I tend to just sit back and read all the comments everyone posts but this time I have decided to chime in...an email was sent out by Michael on Monday, Jan. 28. There was a promo code with the following message: (see below ---- )

Also... a quick update on the December Christmas Countdown.
All prizes for Rounds 1-3 have been sent. I am still working on theBonus Round, though... I had planned to send out a cash rebate to all who participated, but I came up with another idea that I like better, but it is still in the works...

If I can't get this handled in the next week or so, I will just go with the cash rebate. Sorry for the delay - I do appreciate your patience!

If for some reason you think you are missing a prize from rounds 1,2 or 3, please let me know.

I doubt he has access to our credit card #'s as we signed up thru the Netflix website. I think we should just be patient and give him a chance. He obviously made good on the other winners. The only problem I have is that I have asked several questions and not once got an answer, although he was answering other peoples questions. And until I knew for sure he was a con artist, which I doubt, I think it is kind of premature to be reporting anyone to the FBI.

I was the winner in the first round and I have a confirmation email from a site (not inside redbox) that my prize was shipped. So be patient and I'll let you know when I recieve the prize in hand. So far Michael has been honest with this. Give him some time, he's probably one person trying to run this site along with a real job. He's been pretty cool so far and I have confidence in him.

It's a little strange, because last week's emailing said there would be more details within the week.

But still nothing to worry about. If Michael had a dollar for each time one of us missed a deadline, that prize would be huge.

But there was really no deadline, and he's still within his timeframe. If there's not even so much as an update by mid-February, then you can put on your witch-hunting gear. :)

I thought I remembered reading somewhere that the "guaranteed" prize was a $25 Visa giftcard, but it's now 12 days in to 2008...That's half of the 2-3 week time frame during which we were told to expect our prizes. Hope we get some word soon. I haven't even received a notification.

The funny thing about most contests is not the winning of the prizes. Contests are a lot like your birthday or Christmas. As a young child you would stay up as long as you could on Christmas Eve. Waiting to get that glimpse of Santa Claus. In the morning, you would wake up and see all of your toys. Yes, it was a blast to get all that cool, new stuff, but at the end of the day, when all is said and done, you say to yourself, that's it? I was that excited over that? Half, if not more, of the fun in a contest is the excitement that you feel that this time it will be your turn. You know that you are going to win the new car, the lotto, whatever. You win, or you lose, and you think to yourself, I got so excited about this? What do you then do? You psyche yourself all up for the next go round! So what if you can't win? The fun is there in the winning, but it is also in the anticipation.

I am confused because everyone was hinting the code word as Netflix to begin with and that is not what I came up with and it did say I had entered the correct word. Am I in this drawing or what? I have never heard a thing about the "guaranteed prize" but I did the free trial of Netflix and entered the only word I could come up with when I did. It accepted it. HELP!!! So far none of my questions have been answered. Really discouraging.

Of course you get credit for entering the correct codeword. The codewords did change during the rounds to help prevent cheating, but as long as you entered the correct codeword when it was asked for, you are fine.
