    Finding the secret codeword is quite easy... don't overthink it too much. It really should not take you more than 30 seconds to find it.

    Many people have already successfully found the word and entered it, so if you haven't yet, just read the clue carefully.

    I can't seem to get past round 1. I followed one thing but after about 15 minutes I couldn't continue unless I subscribed to two magazines I don't want. I don't know where to go to look for the secret password. Please advise.

    My understanding is you only have to enter the codeword to be put into a drawing for the GC. You don't have to do the offers unless you want to be guaranteed a GC. Read the above carefully, it says there are TWO ways to win. Also, Round 2 hasn't started yet...

    If you read the clue it tells you exactally where the codeword is. You don't have to go through the whole process of signing up with things.

    I'm sorry, but there is no word written in red on the card - I didn't go through the whole survey thing because I'm on my break at work. I read the clue -

    Clue: On the page after entering your zip code [see link below], what is the 8-letter word written in red on the image of the gift card?

    I entered my zip code and all it does is take me to the survey - NO image of any gift card -

    So do you have to do the whole survey to see this thing?

    @syordanova,

    Using the word "scam" for this is really quite irresponsible.

    There have literally been hundreds of people already submit the correct codeword, and there have been a few commentors here already mention the simple process required to find it.

    If you read the instructions, it tells you exactly what is required and where to look, and it is certainly not what you describe at all.

    This is great reading all of this. You guys are really reading to much into it. It is VERY SIMPLE and only should take you 15 seconds. You don't have to do anything but enter your zip and codeword. COME ON PEOPLE. LOL!! I like it! It's fun!!

    It is so dissapointing that RedBox offers what seemed like a legitimate c hance for a prize when all it is is the same junk found in your email everyday - answer 100's of "survey" questions and wind up having to commit to some product you don't want or need to get your "free" gift!! I actually thought RedBox was different - obviously I was mistaken!! Sad.

    LOL - ok, I just had my wife pull it up on my home comp, and there must be some wicked firewall on my side because I never saw the card image on the sign up page. My sincere apologies to anyone I may have upset, and thanks redbox - it really is simple - if you aren't finding it, it may be your comp.

    That is not what this is here at all. You don't have to do all of the stuff you say to be entered to win. PLEASE everyone read what is says carefully and you will see it really is easy.

    ALSO: This site is NOT owned by Redbox. We are not Redbox. We love Redbox, but they don't pay us to run this site, and we don't pay them :)

    Keep in mind - if you are at work, like I am, there may be something preventing you from viewing the image (like in my case) Try it from a secure location (like home) and you'll find it really is very easy.

    As soon as I saw that clicking the link lands you on one of those silly consumer incentive websites (which never payout, even if you "accept" the offers they stipulate...) I was vastly disappointed. I had been looking forward to this "Redbox Game" and seeing one of these rip-off pages left a sour taste. However, figured I'd play along and at least submit the "secret word" back to Redbox. After all, just because these consumer sign-ups are a rip-off doesn't mean this "Christmas Countdown" is. I've had good experiences with Redbox so far and am therefore willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

    It IS true that the Redbox Countdown instructions tell you exactly where to look and what to write down. And they DON'T mean for you to go through the "sign-up" process (unless you really want to), but more for you to consider this an "internet treasure hunt"--they direct you to a website, tell you what to look for. (Just ignore the content of the rest of the page.) It's more of a "can you follow directions?" question than anything else.

    In case it helps anyone, you need to register here before playing: insideredbox.com/wp-register.php

    The "Redbox Insider Updates" won't let you log into the site and doesn't mean you're registered for the site; it's just for newsletters and updates. You need actually log in through Wordpress at the link mentioned above. After registering, you can then play the game. Once again, you need not enter anything except your zipcode on the offers page. You will NOT get spam as there's no reason to give out your e-mail address or sign up for any offers or give out your name.

    (FYI: yes those sites are legit and yes they do actually give out the offer you signed up for if you play the game intelligently and keep track of the offers you signed up for but that's irrelevant to this game).

    If you're blocked by a corporate firewall or otherwise, you can go to ctunnel.com and enter in the URL to play the game and it should allow you to view the site (it's an anonymous proxy for those who don't know).

    Just some clarifications :-)

    Am I doing something wrong? It takes about 3-5 minutes to go through the ConsumerIncentivePromotions junks. By the way, you don't have to go through all that to get the code. It is pretty easy... However, I did go through the trouble below.

    I was under the impresion that you had to select 2 of the offers to be entered for the $250. I don't need or want any of them so I guess this was a waste of my time. I am really disappointed.

    I am not sure what you mean. All you need to do to be entered to win the $250 is enter the secret codeword on the contest page.

    Your confirmation is given when you enter the secret codeword on the contest page. It lets you know if you got the word correct or not and what will happen next.

    Took me awhile to figure out that I just need the codeword and not have to enter any of my personal info. Yeah it was easy but maybe just explain that we don't have to fill out any of our personal info to get the codeword. Yeah it was easy! Thanks Redbox you are the best!

    Please stop helping these people. If they cannot follow the simple instructions, then they don't deserve to win. It is not a scam, it is not difficult, and they shouldn't be on the computer at work anyway. There should be an IQ test required to get on the internet.
