Inside Redbox: Limited Offer: Free Movies for a Month AND $5 Cash!?

  • Michael · 2 years ago
    Even though I had to delete some not-so-nice comments, I can appreciate some of the concerns brought up, so I wanted to address them...

    1) Blockbuster will give you a free month trial directly.

    This is not true. I have seen some offers for a free 2 week trial, but nothing for a month. The cheapest they offer a month for is $9.99. Plus, with only 14 days, you don't get very many movies because of mailing time.

    2) It doesn't really cost you any money to make this offer

    While Blockbuster does offer a commission, it is not much unless you stay on past the first month. I tell you in the post above how to cancel right away. You are under no obligation to stay past the 30 days, nor do I expect you to.

    Also, I have just upped the offer (see below), so now you are actually getting paid to take advantage of this offer. I can't really do any better than that!

    3) You are a scammer!

    Its so nice to be called a scammer when I am giving away something for free. I never receive your credit card information, it goes directly to Blockbuster, so I am certainly not scamming anyone. That would just be silly!

    In any case, I will make this offer even better, especially for those who spent the time on the treasure hunt and didn't receive the promised info.

    So, instead of $10, I am changing it to $15. So, not only will I pay for your month of movies, I will also pay you $5 extra for your time. Fair enough?

    Just follow the instructions in the post above to take advantage of this.

    Thanks!
  • Jihae · 2 years ago
    Thanks for the offer but I tried Total Access before and I wasnt too impressed by the online Blockbuster compared to Netflix so I'll pass. Maybe someone else might find it useful.
  • Michael · 2 years ago
    Jihae,

    Thanks for the comment. What I have found most useful is if you have a Blockbuster store nearby (which many people do), you get a lot more movies for the same price.

    So, if I have 3 movies mailed to me, I can take them to the Blockbuster store, get 3 movies from there, AND they will immediately mail out 3 more movies.

    This lets you have up to 6 movies at a time, which pretty much guarantees you are never without a movie to watch.

    Did you try that part of the service as well?
  • Debi · 2 years ago
    Would love to take advantage of your offer-but am already a Blockbuster member. Thanks for offering tho...what a great gift!!
  • Michael · 2 years ago
    Debi,

    Thanks for your kind comments.

    Perhaps I will have to try and think of something else for those of you who are already Blockbuster members or who have already tried that service previously.

    I will keep an eye out for something for you! :)
  • Tkriger · 2 years ago
    I signed up about 20 minutes ago, and no email yet, what gives?
  • Tim · 2 years ago
    You get $18 for referring people to Blockbuster for this one-month trial. The way you have things setup, you are using $9.99 of the money to cover the trial cost and then giving away another $5 just for the heck of it. This is not some sort of unique, redeeming offer, but rather a way for you to make $3.01 per sign-up (for a total of $1505 if 500 people end up joining).

    Any affiliate could make this offer (or even better), and I'd say that this hardly makes up for those horrible treasure hunts that didn't seem to even end with a winner, much less a rewards program.
  • Nate · 2 years ago
    The only thing I'm worried about is that the screen we actually enter our credit card info into is not blockbuster.com. It's valuableoffers.net. Can this site be trusted?

    Nate
  • Michael · 2 years ago
    tkriger,

    You will likely receive the email within a few hours. It takes awhile for Blockbuster to process this offer.

    Tim,

    Thanks for the comment. I have not see anyone else make an offer such as this, and I looked.

    And, while you are right about the $18, what Blockbuster doesn't tell you on that page is that they will nicely cut that number in half if the customer doesn't stay with them past the first month.
  • Michael · 2 years ago
    Nate,

    Thanks for bringing that up. As you will notice, the site you are signing up on is a secure and trusted site (notice the lock icon in your browser).

    The ValuableOffers site is the one who processes this offer for Blockbuster, so that is why it goes through them. It is definitely safe and is where you are supposed to go.
  • Ray · 2 years ago
    Hey if you don't want to sign up don't sign up. Why rip on him for making the offer? So what if he makes $3 per person, he is the one setting this all up and trying to keep people happy. What do you want him to do just send you a check for $5,000 cause you came to the site. Clue in and welcome to the real world. Lunch is only free when you are listening to a sales pitch. You decide if the lunch is worth it or not! Anyway thanks for the offer. I for one thought the free lunch (free blockbuster) was worth the sales pitch and signed up!
  • Debbie · 2 years ago
    Are there still spots available? How many? (200, 4, etc?)
  • Nate · 2 years ago
    Hey I aint' complainin, in fact, I already signed up as well. I was simply stating a concern.
  • Michael · 2 years ago
    Ray,

    Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it. I am glad you took advantage of the offer and hope you enjoy it!

    I do, however, understand that people are cautious in signing up for online offers, especially when giving out CC info. I am happy to answer any questions I can.

    Debbie,

    When the offer is filled up, I will take down the links, so as long as they are there, you are good to go!
  • Ray · 2 years ago
    My previous post was in reply to TIM's comments about you making millions of dollars off this. I wasn't commenting on the security thing. Sorry it appeared that way. Everyone have a nice day.
  • Michael · 2 years ago
    Ray,

    Yea, that is what I thought as well...

    If only I COULD make millions off of this site! :)
  • Debbie · 2 years ago
    Well I signed up and haven't gotten the email. It would suck if I'm stuck with the $10 bill because BB took too long to email.
  • Michael · 2 years ago
    Debbie,

    Don't worry, you won't get stuck with the bill.

    Not many people who have signed up have gotten the email from Blockbuster yet, so everyone is in the same boat.
  • Debbie · 2 years ago
    What if we never get it?

    As a show of good faith will you give at least $10 to those who were able to sign up through the link but either didn't get the email or didn't get it in on time?
  • Michael · 2 years ago
    As long as you signed up through the link in the post above, you will receive the promised $15. You won't have to worry about getting the email too late.
  • Tim · 2 years ago
    @Ray,

    I didn't say that Michael was making millions off this deal, I was showing exactly how much it appeared as though he was making.

    My problem with this offer is that it seems like another attempt to make money for the site rather than an attempt at some sort of special thank you to visitors (which is how you advertise it). I never saw any results/announcements regarding winners from the treasure hunts (which would generate plenty of revenue on his side) and the supposed rewards program never came through.

    I'm certainly not asking for a $5000 check for coming to this site, I just don't like being lured to a site with offers for "free rentals for life" and big prizes, made to jump through hoops, and then seeing no return on that... I don't begrudge Michael the money, as this site was a great resource many months ago, but I'm really not a fan of unfulfilled promises and what seem like false pretenses.

    That said, I hope people enjoy the offer and Michael is suitably rewarded (if the revenue from the treasure hunts didn't fully take care of that) for the service he provided in the past.
  • June(aka: R. A.) · 2 years ago
    I agree with Ray. It's a sweet offer, so I signed up too. Thanks Michael for actually creating a site like this!! Job well done!!!!
  • Danise · 2 years ago
    how do I enter to win free vidoes email me again please
  • Debbie · 2 years ago
    3 hours and no email. Has anyone gotten the email? What if we get charged and never get the email?
  • Myk · 2 years ago
  • nate · 2 years ago
    not part of blockbuster.. to be blockbuster it would be
    valuableoffers.blockbuster.com

    I already brought up this concern. See Michaels response in previous comments.
  • amy · 2 years ago
    thank you michael.
  • Michael · 2 years ago
    3 hours and no email. Has anyone gotten the email?

    For those of you who have not received the email from Blockbuster yet, have you already been able to login to your Blockbuster Online account?

    In any case, you WILL receive a "Welcome to Blockbuster" type email, no doubt about it.
  • Debbie · 2 years ago
    Yes I'm able to sign in. No email.
  • Christopher · 2 years ago
    I signed using my current email address and it didn't like it cause the account was cancelled. So I used an alternate email address to sign up. The link to Blockbuster is ligit in my opinion, I just hope that blockbuster processes our requests fact.
  • Barbara · 2 years ago
    I signed up about 45 mins. ago and have not received an e-mail confirmation yet! How long will it take them to process our order. Have the 500 limit been reached yet?
  • Barbara · 2 years ago
    I tried to log into the Blockbuster acc't that I created, but it said that sign in and password were invalid
  • Michael · 2 years ago
    You should immediately be able to login to your account after filling out the form.

    I went ahead and created a new account today for myself to make sure the process was working, and it worked fine for me. I was able to login in my new account and it looks good.

    I created this account about 2 hours ago and have not yet received an email myself. If for some reason an email is not received, I will give you another way to validate the signup.

    In any case, the limit has not yet been reached, so no worries there. You are still able to signup, and feel free to share this offer with a friend or two as well.

    I will keep you posted with new info if necessary here in this post.
  • Debbie · 2 years ago
    I understand you keep saying the email will come. It's been 6 hours now and no email, although I can log in to the account and already added movies to my queue. What is going to happen if that email never comes?
  • Joan Zaiz · 2 years ago
    How will you deposit $15 into my bank account? I realy don't want to give out my bank account number. I did sign up. Did you say I must cancel in two weeks or be billed for full amount?
    Thanks for answering my questions in advance.
    Joan Zaiz
  • Adina · 2 years ago
    When I sign in and go to my account it shows i signed up, cant I just email you a picture of my Subscription page?
  • Barbara · 2 years ago
    I just tried to login into my Blockbuster acc't and still can not access it! Should I fill out another form?
  • Michael · 2 years ago
    @Joan,

    Your bank account number will not be necessary. It will all be done with a secure transaction.

    Regarding billing, you will not be billed the monthly fee until the renewal date on your account, which should be August 6. You can cancel anytime before then if you don't wish to continue with the service.

    @Adina,

    That might be what we need to do if the email doesn't come through. I will keep you posted on that.

    @Barbara,

    You can try again with the same email address. If it doesn't work, it means you are already signed up and perhaps you mistyped something.
  • Debbie · 2 years ago
    Finally got the email 8 hours after signup. Already forwarded.
  • Adina · 2 years ago
    Got mine as well
  • lyn · 2 years ago
    If it sounds too good to be true IT PROBABLY IS----I'm uncomfortable giving my credit card or any info. maybe people should go with common cents on this one!
  • nate · 2 years ago
    Count me as another one who got his email! I'm forwarding it on right now. People just need to be patient. Oh, by the way Lyn, It's "Common Sense".
  • Dan · 2 years ago
    Well, I knew the goodness of free rentals would come to an end, but why go give my business to Blockbuster? I say keep Redbox in business. It has already hurt the other retailers (Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, others) enough that they are dropping prices. Keep that going so all rentals are $1 and then maybe I'll think about it.
  • Adina · 2 years ago
    @Dan....

    I wonder how many movies you can rent in a month for $10 if you can have 6 at a time??? Hmmmm at least 30 right?
  • Christopher · 2 years ago
    Got mine at 12:28am after signing up in the the afternoon.
  • Michael · 2 years ago
    I am glad to hear everyone is finally getting their emails. Like I said, it just takes awhile for Blockbuster to recognize the signup and send the email...

    @Dan,

    I agree 100% that we should continue to give Redbox our business. I love the Redbox and still use it often. I haven't even bothered to use a code in the last few months, even though there are new ones available.

    Remember, the only reason I am doing this is to try and make up for my previous mistake. Going this route seemed the best way to do it.

    @Lyn,

    I am not sure what seems "too good to be true" here.

    As you can see, everyone is getting signed-up, are able to access their Blockbuster accounts, and getting their emails.

    We give are credit card information out to merchants all of the time - this is no different. It is definitely safe. So, feel free to take advantage of this offer if you would like to, but you certainly don't have to.
  • Joan Zaiz · 2 years ago
    Did I send you the right email? I also received an invoice one.
    Which one did you want? I am a little confused. How many can I check out at once? Thanks
    your friend
    Joan
  • kim · 2 years ago
    The advantage to using Redbox, was the ability to return the movies to any of the boxes, not just the one where the movie was rented. I will continue to use redbox, and wish we still had free codes occasionally, but still a bargain even at $1.
    Thanks again for the free offer for blockbuster, but I will pass.
  • Joan Zaiz · 2 years ago
    Please let me know if I was supposed to send you the invoice email or the acknowledgement.
    Thanks
    Joan
    chrp1@yahoo.com
  • Michael · 2 years ago
    @Joan,

    Everything looks fine. If there is any problem with the info I received, I will email you directly.

    Thanks!
  • Itsdobull · 2 years ago
    So Mike, If you yourself has received confirmation from ones that has sign up and all has been done that you have required for the $15. When would one expert to get the $15 and how? Thanks!
  • Michael · 2 years ago
    @Itsdobull,

    It takes about a week or so to receive confirmation from blockbuster on those who signed up through the link above. I will then reconcile those with the emails I received, and send payment.

    As I mentioned in the post, it will be before the end of the month, but most likely much sooner than that. You will receive an email when payment is sent.
  • damien · 2 years ago
    i signed up but have not got a confirmation email. how long does it take? usualy something like this is emailed right when you do it.
  • damien · 2 years ago
    nevermind, i read the other posts about it.
  • damien · 2 years ago
    ROFL - i just checked my account online and blockbuster took 9.99 3 times! wonder if i get 3x the amount of movies out at once!
  • snaf_xobder · 2 years ago
    what i don't get is why doing this Blockbuster promotion in a website dedicated to Redbox?

    shouldn't this go to insiderBB.com or something?

    maybe the business has changed so much that you are giving up on redbox?
  • Tina N · 2 years ago
    As long as you signed up through the link in the post above, you will receive the promised $15. You won’t have to worry about getting the email too late.

    Michael, I signed up and have been getting my movies from Blockbuster, and I have enjoyed them. Blockbuster billed me the 9.99. I signed up, and sent you the email from Blockbuster around the 7th or 6th of July, and you still haven't contacted me about how to get the 15 dollars. I am getting worried that you will not follow through with this. We'd like to stay on with Blockbuster, we love being able to get movies in the mail and at the store, but I am not happy that you haven't contacted me yet about how to get the 15 dollars from you. Please let me know what is going on.
  • Michael · 2 years ago
    @snaf,

    Why not do this Blockbuster promotion here? Everyone that comes here is looking for information on movies, or for codes to get movies for free. The Blockbuster offer was a perfect fit.

    @Tina,

    I just sent a reply to your email regarding the $15, but I will also post the info here...

    Everyone who signed up for this offer up to today will be receiving the email regarding your $15 by early next week. I have just today received the confirmation from Blockbuster on who signed up for the offer, and I will be processing them over the weekend.

    Look for a new post from me soon with more info.
  • Matt S · 2 years ago
    Redbox is great, why would you ever go anywhere else? dinner and a movie, thats how I treat the ladies.
  • nate · 2 years ago
    Hey, there isn't any way to RSS this page is there, so I can get informed when these comments are updated?
  • Michael · 2 years ago
    The $15 rebate has been sent via Paypal.

    Many of you have already claimed the rebate, and thats great! If you have not yet claimed the funds, you can do so by following the instructions sent in the email.

    If you have not yet claimed the rebate, and already have a Paypal account that is not connected to the email address payment was sent to, you can simply add the email address to your current Paypal account by going to the "Profile" link and clicking "Email Addresses".

    Feel free to respond here and let us know you received your rebate...

    Thanks for being a valued member of the InsideRedbox community, and look forward to more special offers in the future!
  • nate · 2 years ago
    Got mine! Thanks Mike. Great deal.
  • Ray · 2 years ago
    Got my refund, THANKS!!
  • terah · 2 years ago
    hey i decided to take this offer and i signed up through bb, but after entering in my information it took me to other pages offereing stuff, and it shows nothing about them sending me an email to confirm. The page that i am stuck on shows no where like no thanks or anything just that i woudl accept these 2 magazine offers??? i'm confused in why i got that. it's asking me to pay $29.95 for 28 issues with 8 free. i just closed the box. i don't know what is going to happened but i was not expecting that. know anything about this????? if i do recieve an email confirming anything i will send it to you at the address provided. but i would like to get sum response from you. thanx
  • Michael · 2 years ago
    @Terah,

    Any other offers they add on there (sorry, I didn't know about those) are not required. There is generally a small "No thanks" link right at the bottom of the page.

    In any case, you will receive a confirmation email, but it could take up to 24 hours to receive, as many others have noted above. You will get the email, though.
  • Vern · 2 years ago
    Ok I signed up today as it's the last day possible. Didn't take too long to get the confirmation email from BB and I forwarded it to the above address as instructed. If I like it enough and use it enough, I might just stay with BB after the first month. Are you sending the $15 to paypal accounts? I have paypal attached to the email address I forward the confirmation notice to you. Anyhow, thanks for the great offer. Too bad BB is making you take it down.
  • prashp1 · 2 years ago
    I am already a Blockbuster Online member. Do you have any alternative offer to this?
  • Daniel Wexler · 2 years ago
    Michael, I responded to to your blockbuster offer on July 26, 2007, and as of July 31, 2007, I have not receive a notification of a $15 payment from you, In your email of July 26, 2007, you stated that as soon as you get verification from Blockbuster, payment would be made Please advise. Daniel Wexler
  • Michael · 2 years ago
    @Daniel (and all),

    It takes about 2-3 weeks for me to receive verification of the signups from Blockbuster, so the rebate is sent in that timeframe.

    When this offer began on July 6, it took up to July 25 for the rebate to be sent to everyone who signed up for the offer. So, please be patient - you will most likely receive the rebate sometime around Aug 10.

    Thanks!
  • Barbara · 2 years ago
    How do I open a paypal acc't. I went to that link and they ask buyer, seller or company. Which of these do I have to register at?

    Thaks
    Barbara
  • Barbara · 2 years ago
    I found a phone no. to get instructions from an agent and managed to set up an acc't. Thanks for the Blockbuster gift. I don't know if I'll renew it. I got movies very quickly at first, but as the month progressed -it took longer and longer to get movies. Wish Redbox would have more free codes, but still a bargain at $1.00.
  • melissa · 2 years ago
    We at www.consumerqueen.com thankyour posting these codes. I used 1 for the first time tonight and it was great! I posted your link to my site and would love to trade links with you. We are all about saving money in all areas. Couldnt figure out how to contact you by email!

    I signed up on the last day; still waiting for a rebate, just wanted to make sure I wasn't forgotten. Thanks for the offer, we've enjoyed the movies!
