I was disappointed in "No Country For Old Men." Parts of it seemed very hokey....especially the parts where they track down the money with the radio frequency device. Funny, how they happened to show up in Del Rio, TX and coincidently drove by the hotel where the money was and the device began beeping. I found the movie very choppy.

Hitman: Loved the movie. Will probably buy DVD to add to my collection. Lots of action with great acting!
  • smilinjuju · 1 year ago
I am legend: VERY depressing. It was a struggle to continue watching this movie.

The Brave One: A little less depressing than I am legend. Did have some occasional good action scenes.

American Gangster: Another good flick from Denzel Washington!
  • Don · 1 year ago
I am Legend. Will Smith should choose his roles more wisely. This movie is long, hits patches of boredom, and is interspersed with unnecessary violence and general depressing themes.
  • navajogirl25 · 1 year ago
I Am Legend: My husband loved it! I can see why it could be depressing but overall it was a good, scary movie!

Enchanted: My kids loved it! Cute family movie!

Bee Movie: My kids got bored with this one. It was boring, sad because we were expecting more.

August Rush: Wow! Great movie! Cute and different!

Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium: Predictable but a great family movie!

Nancy Drew: Not really for small kids. Some scenes may be too scary for them but overall a great family movie.
  • kathybacc · 1 year ago
I loved this trailer........ I cannot wait until we get the money to buy the movie.. Will is one Super Super Actor........... Kathy Baccus
  • erickwookie · 1 year ago
I Am Legend: somebody said "unnecessary violence" LOL There is no such thing as unnecessary violence in a zombie flick! Loved the movie! I think a lot of people who don't normally watch horrors are being fooled into watching it because of Will Smith.

Bee Movie: my 4yo boy wants to watch it over and over. It was better than I thought it was going 2 be considering I swore I heard bad things about it?
  • jen · 1 year ago
30 days of night was not as good as the trailers made it out to be. some parts were cool but for the most part the movie just dragged on!
  • Danielle Boudreaux · 1 year ago
August Rush was an excellent movie, very moving!
  • MALISSA · 1 year ago
was hitman really that good? I will have to rent.. I have Juno in my hand right now to pop in the DVD player...
  • GreenMan · 1 year ago
I was really disappointed in AVP Requiem. I loved AVP and was hoping for good things, but to me it seemed like just your average horror flick with the usual cast of characters with the exception of the celebrity monster leads. 2 moons out of 4 on the GreenMan Pagan rating system.
  • MALISSA · 1 year ago
Anyone else think Juno was way over-rated? I guess if I had never heard of it I would of thought it was quite cleaver but with everyone raving about it I had high expectations. I give it 2 out of 5.

    Alvin/Chipmunks - 3.5 outta 5
    Walk hard - 3 outta 5
No country for old men - 4 outta 5
    I am Legend 4.5 outta 5
  • Halighie · 1 year ago

I am Legend = Were those super hero monsters or just infected humans. They looked scary as Hell but they did stuff that was just impossible to believe and made the film stupid. Musta been made for six yr olds.

Hatchet = Very fun comedy horror film.

Lions for Lambs = WOW. Serious message. Good film if you listen.

There Will be Blood = Creepy, eerie, lonely. An OK film about greedy people. Beware; You might see yourself in it.
  • G · 1 year ago
This message is for the screenwriters and directors out there.

Why is it soooo hard to make a realistic film. The realism and believability is what sucks us in and holds us in a grip. And then after its over we still ponder on thoughts.

If you make a film for kids then mark it as so. Otherwise you just insult us.

Example: If in a life and death battle of creatures or whatever and you are lucky enough to make your enemy fall, MAKE SURE ITS DEAD BEFORE MOVING ON! duh... Hmm, I dunno. Maybe like chop its head off? Hello, Mc Fly...

Well one of the films that I rented in redbox a while back that I thought was by far one of the best movies I had ever seen was "TRADE" this movie has all the elements that makes it a great watch! The movie has a simple plot line to follow, but it keeps you constanly on the edge! This film is rated R! It is about the harsh truth of human trafficking, violence, and drugs! Wow, this film is a five star film!
  • Denise · 1 year ago
Okay, to be honest one of the worst films I ever saw and rented by redbox is "10 items or less" what the heck was Morgan Freeman and Penelope Cruz thinking when they decide to make this film! Anyways this film isn't even worth a dollar, but the choice is yours if you want to see a crapy film rent "10 items or less"
  • milf55057 · 1 year ago

In regards to the comment about "I Am Legend," when I first saw the movie I thought they were zombies. Then I read the book (which is quite different from the movie, written several decades ago) and they were vampires. Now the stuff about the attraction to blood makes a lot more sense.
  • jawaria · 1 year ago
P.S. I LOVE YOU, WAS THE BEST MOVIE I'VE SEEN IN A VERY LONG TIME. IT GOT MY EYES FULL OF WATER ON CERTAIN PARTS IT WAS VERY CUTE, AND WELL DONE. I LOVE IT. I WATCHED IT 25 TIMES ALREADY LOL DON'T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES MORE I'LL WATCH IT THOUGH. I'M OBSESSED WITH IT. I LOVE IT, CAN'T WAIT TILL MY B/F TO COME BACK SO I CANT WATCH IT W/HIM AGAIN.

i liked I Am Legend. it was emotional, i have not read the book so i cannot compare.
i can say the movie had my attention the whole way. a good amount of violence, but i didn't expect anything else from those virus infected people. Will Smith did good job. i cried during the sad parts.

Here are my ratings for my most recent Redbox rentals:
(they are based on what my expectations were for the movie vs. the actual enjoyment factor)

    Bee Movie - 3/5
    Hitman - 1/5
    Into The Wild - 4/5
Dan In Real Life - 3/5
    Enchanted - 4/5
    Sweeney Todd - 4/5

I've got a few more reserved at the moment, I'll check back in!

    27 DRESSES - 2/5

Pretty obvious the wife did most of the renting lately, huh?

Does the Code MEMORIAL work at the moment or was that only good for Memorial Day?

    Thanks
  • G · 1 year ago
    RAMBO

WOW. Who knew he still had it in him? He might be short but he's a big man. A Man's man. The first Rambo was the best, back then. But I think this is Sly's BEST for these days. He has out done himself. I don't think he can do a better one and should quit now while his rep is good.

Strong message for the God fearing and probably one of the most graphic carnage films for not being a Horror flick. This one is well worthy of being up there with Hamburger Hill, Platoon and the rest of the likes.

I say, well done! Must see!
  • G · 1 year ago
Are you people serious about the codes? !!!!!!!! Geeeeezze. The rentals are only $1. Who cares about codes? aRE YOU THAT MUCH OF A LOOSER? or are you just a cheap tight a_ _? Must suck to be married to you. :) I'm just saying... :)
  • erickwookie · 1 year ago
G, why are you even on this site if not for the codes? Are you not a cheap tight a__ yourself? Why not go to Blockbuster instead and pay 4+ for a rental you cheap bast___... There's a better chance to get the new releases and much more of a selection.

Stay away from: "Grizzly Park" and "Army Of The Dead"...

"Rambo" and "Black Ops" were ok.

But,--if you live in a small town with no blockbuster any closer than 60 miles, Redbox is the greatest!!
  • G · 1 year ago
Wow, hmmm... I was expecting another bashing. (?) Geeze, you must be a nice person. (rare) Well, I have used a couple codes. But for the trouble, its really not worth it. And for only $1 a flick? Come on, RedBox deserves more than that. They cant be making much money right now... I'm grateful for what they offer. ONLY GREEDY ******! want everything they can get out of life from everyone for free. Thats NOT me. :) PS I'm not religious either. :)
  • G · 1 year ago
erick the rookie wookie, did u not read what i said? Dee-D-deee...

Anyways, I like this site. Its cool. I do think it needs some kind of rating system for the films to go along with the comments though...

PS I only use a code if I get one with my lunch. ;) U Lemming.
  • CJ · 1 year ago
I absolutely agree with Amanda. This movie is, by far, the WORST movie I have seen in years. Highly NOT recommended. The plot was totally weak and just pathetic.
  • CJ · 1 year ago
"I AM LEGEND" was not at all what I was expecting for the caliber of Will Smith's recent works. The "monsters" were ridiculous and totally unrealistic as either vampires (per the book) or "affected" humans (per the movie). The only redeeming factor was that Will Smith was the main character, and even he couldn't pull this movie out of its huge hole of stupidity. I'm really disappointed that Will would even THINK of starring in such a lame movie.
  • CJ · 1 year ago
I totally agree, Jawaria. P.S. I LOVE YOU is one best movies out in years. The plot was excellent, even though the author of the book is very young. Hillary Swank is such a fine actress, but the movie and the plot were excellent as well.
  • CJ · 1 year ago
Memorial worked this past week for me. Try it. Redbox will tell you when you type it in if it is no longer viable.
  • CJ · 1 year ago
A penny saved is a penny earned, G. Redbox would not allow the codes if they were losing money. It's a good marketing strategy, actually. While we get one movie free, a lot of us rent another movie or two. It's especially great if you have kids. You can get them one for free, and get one for yourself. Win, win.
  • erickwookie · 1 year ago
I read what you said. You said we were cheap "looser"s and tight asses for using codes? How else can someone interpret that? I implied that you are also cheap since there is no other rental service cheaper unless you mail very quickly with Netflix. I guess everyone who uses a code is greedy? With all other expenses rising you have to take advantage of deals when they arise. I have no guilt using paper coupons in stores as well.
  • Stego · 1 year ago
    G,

You apparently have nothing better to do. Only an idiot would call others names because they get codes from this site. Note: redbox is owned by McDonald's and CoinStar -- trust me, they aren't losing money. The boxes are placed at sites that already have infrastructure, so there is no extra cost. And they only need employees to service and change out movies, etc. That is a lot cheaper than having 3-5 kids working at a blockbuster. Get a clue before you start talking like you know how much money the two companies make. Plus, you might be not have thought about the fact that some will not return the dvd in the specified max rental time and get charged approx $27. But what do I know. Your the genius.
  • Stego · 1 year ago
And since I actually payed attention in school, I'll give you a clue:

"There is no such thing as a free lunch."

And did you ever think that redbox has a reason for giving out codes?
  • Stego · 1 year ago
I left you a boo boo, did you catch it?
  • Stego · 1 year ago
Oh, and I forgot to mention. It's a dollar a day. So technically If i keep it approx 4 days, I have paid the blockbuster price. And I am pretty sure If I don't return the dvd I used the code for the very next day i will get charged. Man, you have to truly be an idiot not to see the big picture.
  • G · 1 year ago
Dear Raggooooooooooo, I mean Stegoo. Hmm or what ever...

With all the replies it looks like you have more time then me. ;) Wow. Get a hobby. I already know about all that stuff you smuck. Its a good thing you're so smart, or the world would be in trouble. :) You guys missed my point entirely. I don't care enough to argue but now you see how I find this site fun? Dee D Deeee.... :)

PS School lunches were FREE if you grew up like I did. (Welfare Momma lunch ticket qualifying! YES! :)) You must have $$$$$$ but still so greedy you need to save a buck.

I grew up poor as it gets, homeless at 19 and no family. THEN, and TODAY, I STILL STAND TALL AND NEVER BEG OR MOOCH. I NEVER EXPECT ANYTHING FROM ANYONE FOR FREE. I ALWAYS PAY PEOPLE OWED. AND IVE GIVEN MY LAST DOLLAR to someone in need, when I needed it too, TOO MANY TIMES TO COUNT.

So all you hot shots tell me how ********! smart you are. Tell me about how you cant afford a buck to watch a movie you shouldn't even be watching if you cant afford it in the first place. That buck could go for some vitamins for your kids so they arnt sick all the time. So I don't have to hear about how sick you are because your kids got you sick. :) whew. OK. I'm done.

    Geeeezze... People these days....
  • G · 1 year ago
Yes. p hoyt. You are correct. Red Box is so far a good thing. I love it. But I am starting to hear that it cost more in dif locations. UH, OH... I knew it....

Erick the wookie. Im sorry. My intention was not to insult you all. OK. Mabybe it was. So what ever. Anyways... I was drinking at the time. :) OK? Do you need a hug? :)
  • G · 1 year ago
    WORD.
  • jlotyz · 1 year ago
First of all who you calling cheap? you sit on your computer making stupid comments on why we are so cheap and can't go to blockbuster but the reality is you have no life because why are you posting comments on a redbox site when you don't even shop there and you must not drive because the high cost of gas now and days give us no choice but to budget when we can.
  • jlotyz · 1 year ago
we need codes unlike you we need the extra money in our accounts to put gas in our car to get back and forth to work.
  • Abe · 1 year ago
I thought the following were great:
Kite Runner- 4 out of 4 stars
I am legend- 3 out of 4 stars
Just rented Block ops, enjoy an occasional horror flic.
P.S. redbox is the next evolution in dvd rental without the hassles that you have to endure at times at a video store.
  • kcompa · 1 year ago
My husband is very appreciative of his thrifty wife ,proud that i care enough to save some of our hard earned money for other things, resourceful enough to save alot of money with codes and coupons.i rent them all the time full price but momma didn't raise no fool to just give away my money when things can be had for free, that's pretty much a no -brainer,and my twelve year old daughter does that duh-dee-duh thing ,ill bet your wife secretly wishes you had enough sense to know a good thing when you see it! A FOOL and his money are soon parted.hahaha lol to you and yours.Lay off the hateraide.
  • kcompa · 1 year ago
ill bet you fifty dollars that your punk ass left home of your own choice so you could galavant around.I'll bet you disrespect your mom too for being on food stamps ,your just like alot of other ungrateful twenty somethings(lets hope your not in your thirties)no common sense ,and saving money when you can is sensible ,not greedy,I guess we all now know who will never have any real money until you learn how to stop being such a wasteful consumer type, ans stop spending when you dont have to.Stand tall as a mountain ,pride will get you no where but alone.sometimes its better to be kind than right.

  • kcompa · 1 year ago
    me too!
  • G · 1 year ago
Kcompa. You two owe me $50. My Mother died. Let me clear this up a little for you. Cuz, you don't get it. Oh, by the way, it's Dee Duh Deeee... not Duh Dee Duh. I have nothing against saving money. It is a smart thing to do. But have some pride. I would not want other children making fun of my kids about having some tight a s s cheap begging coupon clipping parents. My Mom was a looser yes but she never begged, used coupons or spent the day devouring every freebie she could find. Except for being on welfare of course ha-ha. Make your last name a name to be proud of.

The kind of people I'm drunk on "Hateraid" ( I like that :)) about are the people that always want everything for free. Even when they can afford things. I'm talking about moochers and free loaders. I talking about the guy who holds a cardboard sign that says "Will Work for Food" but wont if you offer work. I'm talking about the one or more pack a day smokers and the alcoholics. I'm talking about the people that show up late to work all the time, wont do overtime, call in sick every Friday or Monday and then cry about how broke they are.

The promo codes were meant to try the system out. Not to live off of them like roaches. Free loaders are a part of why America is poor. If nobody spends money, then nobody can make money. If you don't have money then do something about it! Is that over your head?

If you are so broke then you have no business buying a TV or a DVD player and having cable. I bet you have high speed INTERNET too. If you work your but off everyday then you deserve the breaks. But if you are one of the above mentioned then you need to shut the f u c k up and get a job or show up on time everyday to the one you have and work hard. I don't hate all you looses. I'm one too. Thats why I can talk smack! ;)

I bet you guys share one meal at Taco bell too, huh?

    NOW THIS WAS ENTERTAINMENT! :)

Now let me get back to my cup O noodles...

So I'm on this website on my lunch break looking up codes to rent a movie(FOR FREEEE!)since I'm probably one of the most greedy human beings alive. I accidentally hit the scroll button and see legal retards posting their life stories on a blog for movie codes. I'll admit that the poor use of grammer and talk of welfare stricken homes was quite amusing but perhaps Oprah or Jerry Springer would be a better audience for you to discuss your shortcomings in life...
  • erickwookie · 1 year ago
Did you spell grammer like that on purpose to be funny? Poor grammar, do tell...lol Jerry, jerry, jerry! Why don't they ever release unrated unfiltered Jerry Springer shows? No bleeps and bars on the screen so you could see and hear what's going on.
  • Geddy Lee · 1 year ago
The first half of "The grand" is okay. Looks like a great cast, but the last half is not very good.
"Semi-Pro" was not Ferrels finest moment, though it had its parts.
"Air that I breathe" was typical collision-course-of -coincidents thing (based on a Japanese film, I believe- can any American screenwriter please come up with something original?)
  • Tim · 1 year ago
Hmm... It was one of my favorite movies of last year. Great performances, great directing, and a deeply moving story that has brought tears to my eyes both times I've watched it. It's really quite a beautiful film, in my opinion, and I for one am glad it won so many awards. It deserved them.

But of course, I had read McEwan's novel beforehand so perhaps that helped...
  • Abe · 1 year ago
Surprised, u mentioned about americanization of eastern movies. I am also foreign movie and also see the trend of American adaptations. But, I've seen it
U.S. movies being adapted into a foreign films. I believe it's a cultural thing. I say leave it as is and we can learn from the views of that culture.

WOW - i got on here to see how some of the movies were before i rented them and feel like im 16 in an AOL chatroom! Everyone is dissin everybody and talking smack --- anyways, THE GRAND is horrible, dont waste your time cause i did just hoping it was gonna get better at some point but it never did. You would think with the great cast it would have been somewhat alright but i would have to say it is one of the worst movies ive ever sat through. Now on the other hand - CHAOS was an awesome movie! Great all the way through! Highly suggest it if you like action/suspense movies and or movies with a twist!

You needed to clean the dvd. I simply run and little warm, not hot, water over the dvd and dry with a very soft cloth. Sometimes a tiny drop of dishsoap works, too. Now, I am sure I will get some very aggressive replies to this, but our family uses all kinds of cd's and dvds for many reasons...so I ended up having to rub the teeniest bit of peanut butter over the scratch on the back of the dvd last night and then it worked. You have to use very little and rub just a little with a clean dry cloth and then a lot of scratched cd's and dvd's will work again. I have rented quite a few dirty dvd's, but this was the only one I had to use this method for.
  • Alan Smithee · 1 year ago
The DVD isn't damaged, the movie was made so that it repeats the same events several times- a few times they freeze the action, then run backwards and start again from the perspective of a different character.

Good movie, but Sony ruined it by taking out the burned-in subtitles on the film and replacing them with ugly yellow player-generated subtitles.

OMG! The movie "The Planet" sucked so badly, I wanted to slap myself for renting it! It stunk! The only positive comment that I can say about "The Planet" is, that it's short length of about 69 minutes kept me from pulling my hair completely out. Yecch!
  • Babs · 1 year ago
AUGUST RUSH is the year's best sleeper! The musicality of it is genius! Robin Williams plays his usual superb villain! 4 out of 4 stars!

"THE PLANET" should be sent to another planet.

    "BILL" was actually surprisingly cute.
  • Daniel · 1 year ago
actually its "MEET BILL" but yeah it was a surprisingly good movie, expescially for one I had not heard of till it came to dvd.

I bought a DVD player with some sophisticated features for movies like that. Look for ones that have a "stop" button. Most newer models have something similar for movies that run the risk of self-inflicted baldness.
  • Chip · 1 year ago
Yes, Bob, even in this day of modern space-age gadgets with sophisticated features like "stop" buttons, we all need a little help from our friends! (Especially those friends that still have hair!) Thanks!

THE PLANET is not worth renting if they pay you to.

the only thing redeeming about the movie is that i rented it with a free promo code.

i guess the other redeeming thing is that i was able to shut it off and return it.

Turns out the book was better. Some may like the movie ending more, however. I did appreciate that they left out the explicit sex scene that was in the book.

    21 was a pretty good movie I give it a 4.5/5
and "Kickin it old school" while rather retarded at times had a lot of 80's callbacks that seperates the folks that are really 80's kids versus those that think they are because they were born in like 87' to 89' overall i'd give it a 3/5

Guys, There are many movies in Redbox that arn't worth watching. They just release it as they cannot release only flicks all the time (too expensive). Thats why I use this site called Reelz Review. - http://www.reelzreview.com . This site is amazing. They provide movie ratings for all the new releases collected from Popular sites like Yahoo, Amazon and Imdb and they also have links to Rent it from Redbox. Now you can find all about the movie before renting it and not waste your valuable time.

“Never Back Down” was a fun flick.
    Was that Tom Cruse’s kid?
Side story: These latest new generations of people are very different from my day. These days you had better know some sh it to back up the sh it you spit. When I was in school I kicked allot of ass but only cuz I had to. I was a white minority. We just fought dirty street fighting. No mixed nuthin. No guns. No knifes. My Dad says they used to fight with respect in his day. Respect? What the hell is that?
Here is a secret I learned having to go to many different schools as a kid. Find out who the badest biggest toughest punk in school is and hang around him until he fu ck s with you. Then, like the movie, DON’T BACK DOWN. No matter whether you win or lose, everybody in school will fear and respect you, because you had balls and didn’t back down from the scariest dude in school. Don’t bark and talk shit. Just shut the fu ck up and fight. Barkers are scared. They front big loud talk, hoping the other guy will back down first.
Defend yourself no matter what. Its gonna hurt at first. But if you don’t get killed then it gets easy. The kids that only wanna fight with you when they’re with friends are cowards. Don’t even waste your time on those kinds of guys.

PS This only works in school as a kid. NEVER try this as an adult. Or you will become fertilizer or get locked up.

Ruins - can anyone give an opinion on this movie? Was it similar to Decent? (which i enjoyed).
  • Jae · 1 year ago
Ruins was a stupid movie to me. It was very similar to Decent except there are no things killing people. Decent was a much better movie.
  • Jae · 1 year ago
The bank job was terrible. I was very disappointed.

Ruins is a rip-off, Its is one of those type of movies you watch and through-out your just wondering when is it going to get real. I would wait until it came out on HBO to watch that movie if I were you.

    your life on this!

Does anyone know if you can use "reserve a movie" and then also use the promo code at checkout? I just reserved Twin Daggers because it's disappearing from some of the kiosks and i want to see it and was just curious if anyone's tried this, or knows the answer. I'll find out soon enough! (it's reserved until 9pm tomorrow).
  • a frequent renter · 1 year ago
Thanks for your reviews! I agree definitely with the waitress... want to see kingdom and stop-loss, i think i will go get them right now.
  • BOB · 1 year ago
NO YOU CAN USE PROMO CODE AND RESERVE IT. ONLY WAT TO RESERVE A MOVIE IS TO PAY FOR IT. JUST FYI... TWIN DAGGER IS NOT WORTH YOUR 1.5 HOURS OF LIFE TO WASTE ON. THE MOVIE SUCKED.

OPPPSS.... I MEAN. NO YOU CAN'T RESERVE IT WITH PROMO CODE. LATER

10,000 B.C. was really a very boring movie. I wouldn't rent it unless you need something to make you go to sleep...
  • Redbox Redhead · 1 year ago
'The Ruins' was not that bad. I am a big fan of 'The Decent'. Both movies share the 'we are in the middle of nowhere and no one is going to save us' vibe throughout. The same guy who wrote 'The Ruins' novel also did the screenplay for this. Where 'The Decent' gives you adrenaline rushes and gasping moments, 'Ruins' gives you more 'oh, gawd', and 'ewww'. It's worth a free rental.
  • Trevor · 1 year ago
I haven't seen Descent, but I liked the Ruins book more than the movie (although the book leaves you wondering where the ruins actually are, since it takes place on a hill - in the movie the ruins *are* the hill). The book ending is much better and less Hollywoodish than the movie.

I AGREE - do not rent THE GRAND.. (the rest of my comment is about The Grand if anyone cares to continue reading).....

I should have searched for the title on this page before renting because it was horrible indeed...... i do not know anyone would enjoy this movie... VERY LITTLE actual card playing - very choppy story - focuses more on each character (some very odd characters) than the actual game..

The best part of this flick for me was any of the very short scenes with "Ray Romano" in them, which i usually chuckled at whatever he said but i couldn't wait for it to END... seriously. Also i was hoping it would get better but it NEVER DID.

The most interesting part for me was around 84 minutes into it - i'm not kidding, i looked at the counter to remember how long it took to get to a part that i actually liked. So yea I agree DON'T rent THE GRAND.. it's simply a GRAND WASTE of time. (in my opinion)

    Happy renting!
  • Steve · 1 year ago
Awesome thank you. I will be renting this. I just watched "bicentennial man" recently, not from Redbox, and he was outstanding in that as well. Have you seen the other "August something?" movie? i forget the 2nd half of the name.
  • Steve · 1 year ago
Trade? What is that about? I think I missed that one, unless it's still in the kiosks around here. I'll have to check.

Thanks for the ratings, I'd suspected just by the covers unfortunately that your 2.5 rated movies would not be very popular. I enjoyed 10,000 B.C. however, although it was a little bit graphic/violent, I've seen worse.

    happy renting...

bank job is a good movie...not sure what you expected but it a fast moving fresh take on a story done a million times. 21 is not bad...but very cheesy and dopey throughout....it is hard to pack that many stereotypes into one movie.

That new Belly movie is not kickass. I like The Game and his music, but this movie is a disgrace to the first Belly. Its like he just decided to make a movie and throw it into the category of 'good rap movies' but its just over an hour long and nothing like Belly....

Someone rented Movie A at your redbox and returned it elsewhere. If it is repeated, all Movie A at that redbox is now elsewhere.

Starship troopers was not available at the 3 redboxes near me. I managed to track one down further away and now theres a copy available for people near me after I returned it.

    Our Mission

The purpose of www.kids-in-mind.com is to provide parents and other adults with objective and complete information about a film's content so that they can decide, based on their own value system, whether they should watch a movie with or without their kids.

Indeed, we do not "condemn," "critique" or "criticize" movies. And we don't "praise" or "recommend" movies either. We advance no "beliefs" and we do not "preach" anything. The Grand - 3/5 - I eventually gave up on viewing this as a "movie" and pretended I was watching a "clip show" and just waited for the funny parts while I did my paperwork, so it wasn't as torturous to me as it was to others.

Redrum - 0/5 - This movie sucked rocks. I don't hate on low budget movies, but I was really disappointed in them for making it and at myself for watching it. In my defense, I mainly chose it because Jill Marie Jones was in it. I have learned my lesson.

The Air I Breathe - 5/5 - I thought this movie was awesome. I'd been waiting to see a movie like this since "Crash." If any of you know of any others, please, share with the rest of the class.

Flawless - 5/5 - This movie was great. Wouldn't suggest it to anyone with a short attention span though. I only watched because I love movies that are based on true stories, but in the end, I was pleased that I was able to finish it.

Cleaner - 5/5 - I chose this movie of course because of Mr. Jackson. (BTW, I thought he looked great in this one.) Maybe I watch toooo many movies, but this one really reminded me of "Out of Time" and "Street Kings," wth is up with that? LOL

An American Crime - 5/5 - I saw the independent film version of this movie (another true story) and I was impressed, but this one I felt was better because it was more factual. Definitely not for the faint of heart. Movie watcher beware. LMAO.

Checked out Hannah Montana since it looked like a good guilty pleasure. I might actually buy the Blu-Ray once I have something to play that on. The regular DVD is a 2-disc set but Redbox only gives you the first disc so you don't get the 3-D version which is on the 2nd disc. This wouldn't have been a problem if Disney made it a 2-sided disc instead. The 3-D version probably looks like crap anyways since it uses the primitive red/blue format, supposedly there's a high-quality 3-D home viewing system coming out soon so hopefully they'll reissue this for it.

Has anyone had a problem with dvdplay??? i had a major problem today.... they will "not" rent me a movie with my credit cards!! Reason given: I have rented too many with promos......... This angers me because I rented for a "long" time before I found out about the "promos". AND, paid $1.58, not $.99. So now they have a nerve telling me I rented too many with a promo code. The rep said, how do you get these promos? So I answered, I get them in my email from dvdplay. They are emailed to me!!! She had no comment. So now, I'm strickly a redbox renter.
  • BOB · 1 year ago
THAT WHY YOU NEED TO RENT FROM REDBOX.
  • daniel644 · 1 year ago
agreed redbox is much better then them in this respect, but I really have no choice redbox is the only local kiosk based system available for me.
  • daniel644 · 1 year ago
thats the reason redbox only rents the 2d version, because they have no way of supplying the glasses for the 3d, and the high quality 3d tech is called

    3D READY

and to use it you need a tv that supports it, and basically its a box that attaches to hidef 1080p televisions that is synced with special shutter glasses that only allow at any given time one eye to see the screen and at that moment only half the screen grid displays which results in full hd 3d, here is a link to the info that explains it better:

i thought this was a very very good movie. it kept you guessing all the time. the actors were very good and i really enjoyed it. when i read a little about it, i said to myself this sounds like a keeper and i bought it. i would suggest that you can not go wrong renting this one.
  • Berito · 1 year ago
This movie had potential, but fell far short. After viewing the commentaries, I understood a little more of what they were trying to achieve, but the overall effect was terrible. I could have done with about 20 minutes less of the douchebag party's story, and they could have used that time to introduce the monster a little. And t he ending?!?! I would have liked to see at least a glimpse of how they found the tape. I really couldn't care less about the jerk who got his brother, friend and several others killed in pursuit of a chick he slept with once. This movie was the equivalent of a teen angst video blog on youtube. mildly entertaining, but self involvement grows old very quick.

Wow just watched "Shattered" .. very suspenseful! I could not predict what was coming next although i kept trying. I put this movie on thinking i would be able to check email or clean house or something with this playing in the background -- WRONG! .. i shut off my computer and lights in the room, jumped on the couch and and stared at the tv for the next 90 minutes.. this movie kept my attention the entire time and i kept waiting for something scary to happen.. did it? ..well you'll have to see for yourself. I will say, nothing jumps out at you, although i kept expecting to be scared; (the movie and the subtle but very effective soundtrack made it feel that way - but then again i watch more horror flicks than i should, lol).. but if you like suspense i definitely recommend Shattered.

new return deadline? Did we lose 2 hrs? The redbox i just returned movies to says "by 7pm" on it.. and it's after 7 now! every other one i've seen says 9pm.. i hope that's a mistake but i think it's a new kiosk. (most sensitive screen i've used, gentle taps, and the motor is quick for returns).

i took back artifacts dvd today and it got stuck in the return slot of the kiosk i press return dvd again and push the end of the dvd that was sticking out it had the new case i saw that i got no return conformation on screen but it did give me new rental that i got with today's code. i went home to check on return conformation on my PC and i did not get one from Redbox so i call redbox about this problem after reading some of the story's about redbox screw them over on some of their dvd returns getting charge for non return dvds ranging from 25 to 50 dollars to their credit cards. the lady that i talk to was very nice took my information and she they would send a tech to check the kiosk this took just fifteen minutes for the call and hour later a conformation email came to my PC saying the dvd has been return Redbox rules
  • daniel644 · 1 year ago
Everyone that feels they have ever been overcharged should read this and see how the fact that you get email receipts allowed you to catch the problem immidiately and get it resolved before being charged large sums of money.
