Thanks for posting the Monday code early today- I was able to write it down this morning before leaving for work, and use it on the way home. I asked for Bee Movie and it gave me Deck The Halls, but for free I'm not complaining, I'll watch it anyways. I missed out on the last few because I don't have internet access at work and the Redboxes are too far to go to after getting home.

Sometimes if you enter a promo code before selecting your movie, it will spend a minute processing then say "We are currently unable to process your promo code, please try again later." I got it to work by selecting the movie first, then at checkout hitting the "Add promo code" button.

You can use the same promo card more than once only if you use a different credit card. You can get more free movies for however many cards you have.

How about adding the raw totals for redeemed codes next to the %. Like "90% - 180/200".

Percent can be misleading, ie. 100% could be just 1 of 1.

That is what I use the highlighting system for. If a code has only been used once, it highlights in yellow. Green shows that it has been reported working recently and often.

If you want to see more details, you can click on the code, which shows the complete history of that code. It includes the raw counts, too.

Like the coupon code section of your website as well as the new release list. Redbox still makes a profit off me on extra days on a weekend rental, or on reserved titles, so everybody's happy. Like the no monthly committment, no late charges, decent selection of new released DVD's, low rental rates, and long hours the Redbox machine is available.
Redbox may want to consider adding Price Chopper supermarket to the list of locations. They have an outdoor machine in Connecticut near my office.
Both video stores in my hometown closed recently so the Redbox machine in the local Stop and Shop supermarket has suddenly become extremely popular.

Eventually, you may want to implement the use of a Turing test or something to verify that an actual person is submitting the code as a means to prevent automated spam. While this might not be a problem now, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Also, having people re-type the code in a second text box for verification of accuracy will help to ensure that typos aren't submitted.

Great comments. I do want to avoid the turing test, because I just think they are annoying. I do have a system in place to prevent automated code spam, though.

I will be adding something soon that will alert the user if it is detected they are entering a new code, and require their confirmation. This should eliminate typos quite a bit.

For those of you with multiple credit cards the code works for each card only once. Monday codes are a bunch of jumbled #'s or letters and can only be used on a Monday. I can post them as soon as i get them in the morning.

SPRING & MISSYOU were good this morning. THANKYOU, CREDIT & GIANT were no good (even at a GIANT - tried 2 diff locations!). Seems like nobody can get CREDIT to work after someone above said it always works? Guess they have a friend on the inside...

As I mentioned last Saturday, the Redbox at Walgreens in Chicago is rejecting all codes except for the Monday only code. Tried again Tuesday. Codes were working up to Saturday. Rejected codes: FREEHDTV, SPRING, BEEMOVIE, MISSYOU, DVDONME, THANKU, MARCH, 14FREE, THANKS, SPRINGBREAK, PRESIDENT, BUDDY, MOVIEONME.
Tomorrow I'll try another location.

There are specific code that work at specific location and store in your area. It is good for a long time.
In Maryland at my local Giant, the code "GIANT" is working. I don't think it work in any other market.

I have noticed many of the codes dont work. But they still show that they've been used over the past few days in other locations. Whats the deal?

An example is the monday-only code. I missed the cutoff by a minute!! A guy in front of me took forever picking a movie at midnight and I missed out. But people are still posting that they used the code effectively on Tuesday and Wednesday. Whats the deal?

I'm thinking it is error on the part of the person posting it here, not on the redbox end. What do you think?

An above poster had asked about codes working more then once.

The answer is yes, for a while, several codes would give 5 movies per credit/visa debit card. If I remember correctly, BREAKROOM, DVDONME were the only ones. But both have now been limited to 1 freebie per card. SERIES also gave 3 freebies per card for a time till it was disabled.

I have yet to find another code that gives more then 1 but should anyone find another multiple freebie code please let us know.

Hey boss, what about coding said multiple movie codes? maybe Blue? Or something should they appear?

I have been using the codes and love the free movies. But now it is where I can only use the Monday code. Have 4 different cards that I use and today tried 7 codes at two locations with all 4 cards and it said either it was not a valid code or that I have already used the code. I have had great luck with both of the sites, although today i tried 5 codes at REDBOX and 3 codes at DVDPLAY and none of them worked. It is all just the luck of the draw i figure and it would help if more people logged in daily and let the rest of us know what works and what doesn't. Bottom line You still ROCK Michael!

Majority are Wide screen. I have to change the zoom(dvd player) to get rid of the annoying black bars. Alvin and Chipmunks is a flipper disc. Wide screen on A side, B side-which wasn't marked-Had the Full Frame/Full screen.

Fred, sorry bud No disrespect intended.. but might as well get used to it.. with digital age in full swing finding a "Zoomed in" movie (aka full screen) that cuts off 1/2 the movie will become increasingly difficult to find.

I just recently broke down and purchased several new Wide screen HDTVs, and now appreciate the Wide screen format and wouldn't go back to "Zoomed in" movies even if I was paid

i'm not sure if this is true but my friend said that if you don't use you're email addy on a credit card then you can use the code as many times as you want as redbox tracks the emails not the credit card numbers.

You have to 'swipe' your credit card, that way they can charge you if you bring the movie back late or not at all. They won't charge anything if you return a free rental on time.

Did everybody get the redbox email about them finding a skimming device on one of the card readers of their kiosk?

150 people may have gotten their card info stolen.

Before sliding your card/s into a kiosk,make sure it doesn't have a weird looking contraption at the top of the normal card reader.

Does anyone know how redbox makes money on the rentals? With the price of the kiosks and the DVD's I have trouble figuring out how they make money on this. And why do they have software engineers for DVD rentals? I checked out the job listings they have and it's like a corporations list of jobs. I can't imagine why they need all those positions if all they do is rent DVD's. When I was at a redbox a couple days ago there was someone from redbox doing something with the machine. As far as I could make out it looked like he was swapping out DVD's but I couldn't get a real good look so I'm not sure.

I have tried several codes and they almost always come up invalid. I wish you could keep the list updated so You wouldn't have to stand in line at the redbox punching in code after code and being rejected. I live in Merriam,Kansas and go to McDonalds to get the movies.

You can't return to just any redbox machine. Most machines have the return slot on the side, but some have slots near the bottom with smaller slots. The dvd cases are of different sizes. I've also found that 7-11 stores in my area (Nevada) chare $1.50 not 99cents!

p diddy: Touch the screen to start.You'll see "enter promo code" key-lower left corner- and press it.Type in the code and enter.If code works,the screen opens up to the movie list-in alphabetical order. If code doesn't take,it'll be a red screen saying "Sorry,code is no longer valid".

If the screen accepts the code,make sure when you check out,it says $0 for rental charges.Once in a while,it'll still show $1.07 for me. Usually 1 code works per 1 card. 4 different cards,4 free rentals. Takes longer,but the price is right.

Used MCSKLLT308 and ALVIN14 today at Albertson's in Richardson, TX around noon. These are still working for me.

I see pending $1 transactions on my card too, but it usually disappears after I have received the receipt from Redbox (whenever I choose to get a receipt via email). Also, at times when I choose not to have a receipt, I just see it disappear in the pending charges of my credit card and they never bill me.

1. LOOK AT LIST OF CODE USE THE ONE IN GREEN.

2. LOOK AT THE CODE HISTORY AND SUCCESS RATE.

3. JUST REMEMBER TO RENT ONE MOVIE WITH CODE. YOU CAN USED THE SAME CODE MORE THAN ONCE IF YOU HAVE MORE CREDIT CARDS.

4. MAKE SURE THE CODE YOU PICKED HAS NOT BEEN USED ALREADY BY YOURSELF.

I rented online once, and now everytime I go to the redbox location it automatically puts my e-mail in for me. However, I get a reciept in my inbox, and also when i return it i get a e-mail.

The "pending charges" or the pre-authorization on your online credit card statement typically drop off in 2 to 3 days, unless you don't return the DVD.

The machine will tell you if you've already used a code with the credit card after it's read, then you can decide to pay anyways or cancel. The code REDBOX is only for first-time renters, I didn't know about that one til I had already rented with my 4 credit cards but I just got a new one (which I don't intend to buy anything with!) so I can use that with it, then the other codes that are still valid. Can't rent anything on Fri-Sun though since they're too far to return on days when I'm not going to work!

I only ever received 2 emails from Redbox a few months ago and they were the DVDONME & BREAKROOM codes when I originally signed up my email. No emails since. All the other codes I have used I only find here. I found other sites claiming to have redbox codes, but the codes found there are always outdated or already on here. I don't know where the original posters gets their new codes from?

I noticed on another site that it said that sometimes codes are printed at the bottom of your receipt when renting at the actual redbox. Hmm what receipt? I have never ever gotten a printed receipt. Did I turn that feature off the first time or something? I did give them my email address and they SEND me a receipt. When I checkout, it doesnt ask me, just says dispensing my movie, then it shows the screen like a new person could walk up. How do I start getting a receipt. Does the email receipt have codes? Any help appreciated. TIA.

@Brutus Buckeye: What you are doing is fine, and is actually currently the preferred method. For myself, as soon as I see an obvious spam code, I delete it from the system.

In the next update of the codes system, I will be implementing moderation for all new codes that are entered. This means they will not show up at all until a moderator or myself approves the code for display. This will completely eliminate spam-type codes.

Because of this, I will need to have a few volunteers to become moderators for the system to help me stay on top of things.

Also, the entry of spam codes into the system will result in the banning of the offending user from the site.

Thanks everyone for your help in keeping this problem as minimal as possible by marking the offending codes as "failed" until this new system is in place.

The only thing I don't like about the moderation of codes is the Monday code. If someone could post it in the comments here as soon as it comes out that would be great. I don't know why redbox can't just email the code instead of text messages, but then again I never get any emails from them anymore anyway? I'm not going to pay another 9.99 a month for text messaging. I find myself waiting in the Giant parking lot with a TREO for hours after work waiting to see what the new code is before going home for the day (night shift).
BTW I tried to mark codes as failed but it only let me do it once? I even tried using other stores to get the idiotic codes off the board but it only took my 1st entry?

I don't know where you live "2",but gas here is 3.69. Closest redbox is about 20 miles from my house. The value of the code is more than 1 dollar if you take into consideration the # of cards you have and the cost of fuel. I can easily stop by several Giants or Redners or Aharts on the way home from work without wasting any fuel. But since you aren't concerned about saving $,I'm not sure why you are even here. Is that not why we are all here? Keep in mind this is coming from an irrational Wookie...what would I know?

You can use each code only one time per credit card. However, if you have multiple credit cards, you can use each code once per card. For instance I have a debit cand and two credits, so i can use each code three time. Just thought I'd throw that one out there for those of you who didn't know

Bob, I've used one of my cards with 18 different codes without being blocked over the last few months. I've also used 5/6 different cards in one trip. May as well take advantage of it while it lasts. Just wanted to reply to Cee. I think that redbox knows that people share their codes, if they did not want it done, they would make all codes one time use only. I had never rented with redbox til I got on this site and got some free codes, now I use a free code sometimes and i pay sometimes, so they are getting money from me that they would not have without this site...and I bet I am not the only one.

Instead of listing codes as "expired" why not actually remove them? It seems like it would take the same amount of work. Also, codes that are known to be expired could be set up so as they can not be re-entered again by mistake. Much like "FREELAPTOP" is not a working code and is unable to be deleted by users other codes could easily be set up as to not be entered by users including common swears.

My guess is that codes for "free" movie rentals generate revenue for Redbox in numerous ways. The movie isn't entirely free because you have to go to a redbox location, a cost in time and transportation. As such, users that acknowledge these costs are more likely to keep a dvd for more than one day and pay for additional days if their viewing plans changed or if returning to the redbox is the only reason for going out. Also, users that want to rent a movie and pay because a redbox code isn't available when they want it, may be more likely to visit a redbox than a competitor because of factors like familiarity, loyalty and convenience. In addition, Redbox may benefit from the increased traffic free codes produce for the hosting location. Anyway, thanks to all that contribute to this site, and thanks to Redbox

If you think the free redbox code is kind of advertisement then that is what they are doing. People line up at the Redbox machine to create some other people's attention is better than spend money on TV or newspaper. Also, give out the free code is better than let the DVD stay inside the machine and do nothing. They give out the code around mid-day so you only actually have a night to watch the movie. If your time and schedule do not allow that, then you probably keep the movie for one more day, redbox start make money now. In addition, if you forget to return it, then redbox make money again. At one time, I forgot to return a movie for two days and have to pay for 2 days. So, it is a calculate cost, redbox is doing, otherwise, they will not do it at all.

Hi all, and Michael, I was at a redbox in iowa when the serviceman was working on it, I got to see the inside and how it works, the dvds are in the cases in a circle at different levels, it spins around then up or down to the location of your movie, that is why the door is slanted, I did not have a camera, but the man said there lawyers had been in contact with the person wanting a picture of the inside, any truth to that? He said he was going to buy stock for sure.

Hi HELPMICK,

No problem - you can use 1 code per 1 card!
But you always start with REDBOX - this code only works if the card has never been used.

After using REDBOX - you can use DVDONME and BREAKROOM - those are valid always, never expire.

Then you can use Free Monday and Wednesday codes and other codes which are coming up on this board (most are valid for a short period of time; some are valid only at specific locations, like only at Walgreens, etc).

Was the charge exactly 1.00 or 1+tax? If it's exactly 1.00 then rest assured it will come off in a few days. They will always do a 1.00 authorization to be sure it is a legitimate charge card.

Breakroom only works one time per credit card. Meaning you can use it again if you use a different card. You're better off creating an account where they will send you free codes to use on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Buffy, when you sign on to Redbox... on the right side, by the "Logout" you will see "Get A Free Rental", click on that. You can either get the code to your email or your cell phone (as long as you belong with one of the carriers listed). Hope that helps you!

Thanks for your input I already went to redbox before I got your post. I agree "Air I Breathe" was not good at all extremely hard to follow and very gloomy. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. However, "Cleaner" was pretty good although it was kind of sad it was good overall. I relly liked the awesome acting performance of Samuel L. Jackson he was superb. Eva Mendes was kind of hot too!

Proposal:

- to color backgrounds for expired codes in color
- to color backgrounds for "valid-in-certain-stores" codes in blue color
- green - would be general valid anywhere codes
- yellow - anything else you like

ALSO - I would create an extra Field and extra Column calling where valid. So if it's working, you would pick "Working" and then field "anywhere", "only at mcdonalds", etc.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have considered adding some new background colors and a key for them. I'll look more closely at that.

There is already a field for saying where the code was used, which serves pretty effectively for finding location-only codes. Since most users will not know a code is only for a specific location, I don't think have a separate menu for that would help.

If you do know more details about a code (like where it works or when it expires) please leave it as a comment and I will update the system.

I mean I don't want to have to swipe my card more then once because there are usually several people waiting to rent or return movies behind me and I don't like holding up the line if I don't have to. So I just want to know if there is a way to order all the movies I want with different free codes but only swipe once. Thank you for helping me out.

ERICKWOOKIE IS WRONG. You can use more than one code at a time. Did it myself when I used "MILLER" and "FREEDVD4ME" and I have seen other redbox users do the same thing. All you have to do is keep pressing the rent w/promo code option at the bottom of the screen before checking out.

This is a community website where people subscribe to new codes $$$$$$$$ and pay for it. Well they also give us the codes by putting them on the website. There is no posted date when given/started/removed/end! Does it really matter, should really be the question! NOPE....its just free to the people that use it! So with this being America....Choose to or Choose not it matters little.

I stopped getting redbox codes in my email months ago. I tried re-registering; still nothing. My co-worker was giving me codes, but then she stopped getting them. Anyone know why this happened or how to fix it?

no, you won't get in trouble. However, you can't use the same code more than once on the same card . It tells you it was already used. You can use the same code on different cards though even in the same account name.

I tried that one yesterday and it didn't work for me. One at a time is how it goes. I even tried to place two codes on one card and it didn't reshow the use promo code box. For some it might work, but for me it didn't.

You can use more than one at a time. The key is to enter the codes in the CHECK OUT screen, not on the home screen. When you are checking out, you'll see an option something like "Add promo code." You should be able to add as many as you have at that point, and you'll get a dollar off each time.

New customer here: Just returned a movie to Wal-Mart that I got for free using BREAKROOM. Movie got stuck in slot so I decided to rent another disc using a code I found on this site, THX608, to see if it would unjam the jammed one. Proceeded through the checkout and Redbox accepted code but I got an error message from the machine because the slot was blocked. It canceled my transaction. As I was walking away, someone approached with 2 returns to make. I told him that the machine was not working because of the "jammed" movie. He quickly reached in his pocket and pulled out a 'leatherman tool' (one of those folding utility tool/knife thingys). Anyway, after a couple minutes of poking and pulling, he retrieved the wayward disc and case and we reinserted it successfully. He made his 2 returns and rented another. When I finished my shopping, I stopped by to make another rental. The THX608 code didn't work this time but DVDONME did. Thanks Redbox. And thanks insideredbox for this site to exchange codes!

Hi everyone..

while "breakroom" and "miller" type codes worked like a charm for me, the monday/wednesday codes NEVER work for me... I live in Illinois and go to Jewel/Osco to rent my movies. Does anyone have any idea why those codes never work for me.

Also, I finally got one email from redbox giving me a code, but none since that first email. I still do not recieve texts (which I signed up for several times) or any emails to any of the email addresses that I've signed up with. Strange that I can recieve the confirmation emails from redbox with no issue but never a "freebie" code!

It just gives you the first night free. So if you end up forgetting to return it or get busy, and keep it for another day or two, you do get charged. They aren't going bankrupt on giving 1 day away free. Life gets busy and they know that, many people don't get them returned in 24 hours or rent more than they can watch in 24 hours.

you sure are having some strange problems. maybe i'm just lucky. i live in Illinois also, and as you, go to Jewel/Osco, but i have no problems using codes that are active. i always receive the Monday code and in May, the Wednesday code. however, because they come so late thru the email, i usually use what's been posted in the blog rather than wait. i don't have a cellphone, so don't receive a text.

only problem i do have at redbox, is finding a movie i like. i have rented more movies i would never rent normally, just because i have a free code. guess this is kind of silly, but i figure, my total walk there and back will be over 2 miles, i'm going to rent something.

and because i have 4 credit cards, i rent 4 movies. i think i need an "Intervention".

I think the "popular.Newly added, and expired" color coding is a great idea. May I suggest making them clickable so as we can see them grouped together to make it easier? Or simply grouping them together yourself via the administrator options. Thanks again for a great site.

@Myronanderson: All new codes are moderated and need to be approved before they show up on the list. I implemented this a month ago to stop spam and abusive codes from being entered.

I am notified each time a new code is entered, and I try to get them approved ASAP.

I was wondering..... When I get a movie for free via a code I always try to return it as soon as possible. It is my way of saying "Thank you, here is the movie back so you can turn a profit on it faster." Sometimes it is the same day. More often then not actually. Does anyone else think this way?

I just used on Monday the code DVDONME in Caguas, Amigo(Walmart) Supermarket and it worket just great. Yesterday I used the code BREAKROOM and without a problem. I only have one issue. The movie was all damage. In that case REDBOX have to make some weekly or monthly inspection of the DVD's to solve this issue. Either way this will generate a domino effect that no one will rent a DVD because you don't have anyone to claim for your money back.

If you call redbox at 1-866-REDBOX3 and tell them you got a defective movie, you will need the last 4 digits of the credit card, they will give you a one time use code for a free rental, that is good for 45 days.

You can use each code once with different cards, if you try to use the same code over with one card, it will tell you the code was already used with that card, you can then put in a different code. for a free movie.

I use different cards with the same codes all the time! We have 4 different cards that we rent with, and typically are able to use the same code all four times! RB just matches the zip code to each card, not the name on the accounts!

BTW- A friend found out that I am using codes for free movies (because I excitedly told him), and his reply was "dude, it's only a dollar".

fyi: the zip code you put in doesn't matter. I dont even know why they ask for it. Just type in any zip code after you swipe your card and it will still autorize, as long as its a active card.

Thanks for the replies! I'm going to try a different card tonight. I can verify that (for me at least, at the Wal-Mart grocery store Redboxes) you cannot use the same codes with the same card. It may be partly because I linked the first card with my email (to reserve a movie online) so it displays my email each time I swipe the card. Two other cards are not linked to anything so I will use those.

And I thought this was damn funny: "dude, it's only a dollar"

How long does the redbox kiosk store the information on codes with certain credit cards? I usually forget which code I’ve used with which credit card and end up waiting for a new code to be posted. If the kiosk remembers which codes have been used with which cards, it would definitely help me out.

In other words, if I use code BREAKROOM with a card week 1, and try to use BREAKROOM with the same card on week 2, will it warn me that the code has already been used with that card?

I see that you have an account and are signed in, so as long as you enter the codes you have used in the system, the "My Code History" link will tell you when and with what cards you have used the codes.

The Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market in zip-32828 only has one machine, and let me say that there is almost always a line at least 7 people long. On Friday the line was over 20 long, and going out the door blocking the entire entrance to the store. It was quite funny since the entire line broke out in a yelling match in Spanish at each other and I thought there was going to be a riot. They absolutely need to put in another machine! I will be shopping elsewhere soon.

I tried REDBOX after having already rented with the same credit card, it said code was for new customers only, so I used a different credit card and it took the code. You just need a new card that has not been used.

The codes are one time use per credit card that you use. I have two cards I use on Monday and Wednesday and get 4 free rentals. Your "account" is identified by your credit card, not your email (if you use it); so, it doesn't matter what order you go in, but remember that some codes will expire before others. Once a code is used on your credit card, it is in their system. They nicely let you know it has already been used.

If you submit redbox your email when renting a movie, they will send you an invite to sign onto their site...once there, if you enroll and allow them to send txt to your phone, they will send you a free code in appreciation (redbox)...then every Monday and Wednesday you'll get a free code. This code is a one-time use also, but you are encouraged to send it to your friends. The "free rental" helps the consumer become accustomed to the ease and reduced fee of renting from redbox versus blockbuster, hollywood video, movie gallery, netflix...

This company is already kicking you know what in towns that have a McDonalds but no video rental stores! If it is a publicly traded company, stock in it might be a great investment.

I don't usually try the expired codes; however, if it is common that they still work past the expiration date, I may start trying some.

For the 3rd time in the past month I wasn't able to use more than 2 codes per card when I used to be able to get at least 3 free dvds per card at a time. Everytime I try to use a 3rd code per card, it says it can't authorize it so I just have to use another card.

It was like it couldn't communicate with RB homebase or something. Of course at this point I hadn't even put in my card yet. Anyway, I'm hoping it's fixed now!! I had the exact same problem last night at around 7:55 p.m. central. It was especially annoying since I had to stand in line for about 15 minutes beforehand. After entering the promo code the machine would say "routing" for about 15 seconds, and then "unable to process promo code at this time". Never had that happen before.

I have had several times where the machine would not take promo codes basically what had happened was the machine had lost its connection with redbox and during those times it doesnot accept codes and also if your like me when you get to the part with the email receipt part you have to type your email that would normally be retrieved from redboxs "homebase" simply wait and try again later, also it is not uncommon to see the redbox reboot shortly after this problem happens.

All 3 "Weird" codes worked for me! This was Yesteday at Giant Eagle in PA. I thought for sure they would not work- they looked like customer issued codes, that Redbox gives such as cases where a DVD was damaged or wouldnt work. Also a tip for all...If you get a message "Unable to process code...sorry for inconvience" (something along that line) give the Red box machine a few minutes, and retry it- most the time they work! If a code is truly not working, the kiosks let you know with an invalid code statement. I think sometimes the redbox networks gets busy, and sometimes slows down for a short bit...in a nut shell dont give up on the code so fast!

No, you cannot use the same code on the same card. It will give you a message saying "promo code has already been used." You have to use another credit card so that it will actually be a different transaction.

Hello, all, the code in Sundays McDonalds ad DSMSPAD, is shown as invalid, it was supposed to be valid June 15th thru July 14th, I reported it to Redbox, and they verified it is not valid, they are going to turn it in to there Marketing Department. Hopefully that will resolve the issue.

Wow!! all these codes showing up... you think that redbox is giving them out because they know that theres really nothing to watch, atleast nothing that would bring a crowd to the box to rent? or maybe it just because it's summer and the kids or off and gas is high?
I've rented some but they all seem to be bad movies,can't even sit though it. I think they should bring back some old ones that recently went away, maybe starting from like movies that came out in jan of this year until now. What do you think?

I just came upon this site and i am impressed with it's research, information, and content.

I can not figure out how REDBOX lets renters get away with using so many codes, and not wising-up to it.

I'm wondering if its on purpose?

If you check their TERMS OF USE page at,

You will find the following line under, 'DVD RENTALS'

. . . In the event you use a valid and unexpired promotional code provided by us when renting a DVD from our Kiosks, the specific terms of the promotion associated with such promotional code will govern your rental.

The key phrase is, 'provided by us'.

What happens when they begin to cross check the promotional codes THEY SENT YOU with the ones you have actually used. My interpretation is, that if you use a code that was not emailed you FROM THEM, they have the right to charge you for the rental! Can you imagine if they INTENTIONALLY waited to do this, how much money they would make!

I highly doubt they would do that, i have rented DVD's with promo codes only to find them un-playable. The Customer Service @ RedBOX is hands down the best. They immediatly gave me a generated code so that i can re-rent the movie.

I have rented LOTS AND LOTS (wont give exact #) of dvd's using promo codes, and have never been charged once. (other than the temporary hold)

one code per card, and i have over 7 cards -- THANKS REDBOX!!

This simply would never happen. I don't think that is the intent of their TOS. And, the reality is, there are no codes that work that they have not "given" at one point or another.

The real question is, why NHMan, Jimbo and Pondside post under different names when they are all the same person. Seems like a weird thing to do, doesn't it?

I tried to return some dvd's today to a box that I don't normally use. Half the touch screen didn't work, luckily I was able to return my dvds but when I tried to hit the "rent a dvd" that side of the screen was not working.. we could drag the curser around the right hand side but it stopped half way. I decided to call the redbox 866 number and ask what to do and of course I was on hold for over 10 minutes before I gave up, hung up, and walked away. Then again tonight I figured I would try to call them again and still was on hold for over 10 minutes.. what is the deal with them?

Does anyone think that it is wrong to use the codes to get free dvd's if the codes were not sent to you directly? The rentals aren't really very much money and that is how the company pays for the new movies when they come out. The rental fee is also how they pay for the repairs on the machines. That is also how they pay their employees. If everyone gets free dvd's all of the time, they will eventually shut down the company and then everyone loses out. I would feel like I was stealing, by using other people's codes, but to each thier own. This is just my opinion and I won't be loging into this site any more.

no I don't see it as being a threat to redbox's survival, because if they where redbox would simply kill the promo code system, and what you have to look at is there's what maybe a few hundred people that come to this site versus the probably tens of thousands that rent from reedbox machines. Really the code users are probably compared to the market share that apple has in the home computer market, being about 7 percent, they are clearly making plenty of money, and as far as there paying employees you have to remember 1 person could service like 6-8 machines in one day for putting in the new movies so it doesn't take much to run.

I dont think its wrong, because they would not create free rental codes that everyone can use, if they it was. Rebox does issue one time use free rental codes. Also the intent of free rental codes is to get customers to use redbox, and to visit the store there based in- its mostly a promotional tool. Id almost be willing to bet that the stores that the Kiosks are in are probably paid for to rent by the store itself. The fact of the matter they generate store traffic. Most people probably pick up a few items at the grocery stores there in- "while they are there". Not everyone who uses the free rental codes, return there DVDs the next day, so they probably make a few dollars that way as well. Also not everyone who uses the Redboxes, use promo codes. Id also be willing to bet that there are more paying customers, then promo code users- so it balances itself out one way or another. If Redboxes was not making any money- theyd shut down the free code rentals, faster than greased lightning.

And a lot of people use the codes the first time they get a movie and then keep on getting movies and pay for them. I think you have too much time on your hands. I noticed that when I go to a busy Redbox, the box is well stocked in the new release (popular movie that comes out on tuesday) and less of the old movie. The less traffic Redbox has less new release and a better selection of the older movie. I could also be that customer will rent from one kiosk and return the movie at a different kiosk.

It seems really simple and it is not like we are going to post MLKING again because anyone who knew MLKING was a working code also knows it is now invalid as well. It is at the point now that I do not confirm "known" working codes because I know it will be that much harder to remove it later.

Obviously they don't care about millions of people getting their movies for free if they sent me that kind of text. I think the creator of this company is a giver and not a taker! Redbox can get by with giving a
"free rental" away to a percentage of their customers for a few reasons.

1st, not everybody uses these codes. There is a active community obviously that shares the codes, however, I bet at your local red box of choice it is 1 in 10 that does so.

2nd, red box sells the movies to the store, so they lose no money.

3rd, most people do not keep them for 1 day only. That is the key to red box store in making its money on the movies to pay for the fees and cost that come with hosting a red box in your store. I've worked in several rental places, block buster and other local outfits. Most people can not get a movie back on time if their lives depended on it.

In summary, share your codes with your friends, good chance they won't use them. If they do, the will keep the movie for 3 or 4 days and red box the company could care what you do as long as the store keeps buying the DVDs from their vendor and keeps calling them to service their machine.

if you go to redbox's website and give them your email address every tuesday for the first month they will send an email with a code good for the week, also some of the codes are not really known but some people find them written on a pice of paper attached to or near the machine that they then report here for the rest of us.

On the very first screen look at the bottom left it says enter promo code. Push that then enter the code after you do it will credit $1.00 to the account. Then just pick a movie like you normally would. You still have to swipe your card in case you keep it more than 1 day. Just check out like normal.

After I entered my first successful code from this website the other day (EGIZER5), I was optimistic that I might have some future success with the other codes here. However, when I returned that DVD the following day (to the same machine) and tried entering a code for my next rental - ones with high percentage too - I must have hit a bad streak, for none of the next 6 codes (all that I had written down) were valid.

Has anyone here experienced something similar? Found that pretty much any code isn't valid when you've just returned a DVD for which you had also used a code.

The thought of RedBox monitoring our rental history (as connected to our Credit/Debit Card Number) is an uneasy one for me. Even when we get a free rental, they still know who it was because we have to run our card through (and most of us probably use the same card each time we RedBox it). So it is possible that RebBox could "cut us off" from free rentals, or potentially limit the frequency of allowing us to successfully use the promo code system.

You can enter it one of two places, you can either hit on the main screen at the bottom, there is a "rent with promo code" button that you could hit. Or when you are in the check out screen, at the bottom of the screen there is another button that says "rent with promo code". I hope this helps you.

Yes you can use it more than once, as long as you use a diff card, becasue when you use the code it is linked to that card that you used, so if you use a diff card then it will work again.

In my experience, you can use another code after returning a DVD. They may be location dedicated or Monday codes, etc. I truely do not believe Redbox is monitoring the rental history with the exception of which card/which DVD so they can authorize a replacement in case of errors. I have rented quite a few movies using the codes and have had few problems. All of which were taken care of promptly. I average nearly 10 to twelve a week.

I have pretty much got the free rental thing down to a science now. I have 4 cards in my name that I use to get the movies. I have my primary bank debit/credit that I use to test the codes that are added to this site. If the code(s) work then I rent 4 movies with the codes (so those who don't know... each code is good only once per credit card) I always get my 4 movies on FREE MOVIE MONDAYS! I have encountered exactly what you did with the several codes not working, but you can always count on the monday code to work. hope that helps!

Nope never had that problem, I have on several occasions returned a movie where I had used a promo code, and then used a new code to get another movie right away.

It is impossible for them to "monitor" the way you suggest because how could redbox know it was you entering the new code, when you could have very well walked away after returning your movie and someone else walk up and enter a promo code.

from my experience redbox will only limit valid codes after several people have used them in a row but if you wait a while they will start working again.

I ask because I have several friends who don't have credit cards or atm cards that would like to rent from redbox but can't due to lack of having a card.

if the codes you tried were wierd letter and number combinations and it sayed that they have already been used, then those were one time use codes given to someone from redbox. But any valid code that you type in should work, except for the codes REDBOX and I think DVDONME are for first time renters only, and of course BREAKROOM since you used it already. The next time you try one and it rejects it write down what the rejection screen said for why it wouldn't take it and post it here.

Still trying to figure out when codes expire- for most of them, the Monday following the day they get put out is the last day they work, but the EGIZER5 code quit working today (Sunday) but was working Wednesday. Others like MILLER have lasted at least 2 weeks. I've almost seen everything out that I want to see anyways, it's been great getting free rentals so I can save my money for a new TV hopefully by the end of the year! Course then I'll have a Blu-Ray player too and won't be satisfied with Redbox's standard DVDs.

yes, i get an email also, but not til noon or so Central Time. i notice the people that have cellphones, and i dont, get texted earlier in the day. so i was hoping there was someone out there who received the code by text and was willing to post it. i hate sitting around waiting til noon or later. its getting hotter by the moment. 79 now, but going up to 90. thanks

I signed up for the Redbox codes through email .... Which was like 3 weeks ago. I got one called "Breakroom." and haven't received one yet. Supposedly the codes were suppose to be sent every week - to almost every week. It's been 3, maybe more and I haven't got any

Does anyone else get codes through email, if yes how often do they send them to you.

Also is the text worth it? I was thinking about it, but I only have 100 texts on my phone per month. I don't want them to be wasted on rebox ... how do people get Monday codes as well? Please and thanks.

What does the "green" upwards pointing arrow represent? I originally thought it would mean the trend of codes wether working or non-working, but the "green" or as some would assume (working) arrow is on both working and non-working codes so is thus usless here. Am I missing something? :-(

Currently, by clicking on the green arrow it will copy the code into the reporting box above, thus eliminating the need to type in the code manually and reducing typos.

I realize this is not intuitive from a user interface standpoint, and am working on better ways to indicate this ability. Also, after seeing the arrow there, I also thought of the idea using it for code trending, and will likely do so in the future.

What I am trying to do is cram a lot of useful features into a limited space, which is not an easy task. Any suggestions will be welcomed.

where did you people rent your movies before red box came out here in the central valley Calif. we have redbox,movie cube and dvdplay rental machines all within a 5 mile radius where i live. if you don't spend a dollar once in a while at the redbox more than likely you wont spend a buck in their stores as they put these machines to get extra foot traffic and if they don't make money off those machines they will be gone as retail space cost money.

I found a new way to get the new release from netflix without the long wait. When you see the new release trailer showing in the theater, go to netflix and put in on hold in your que. You'll be the first one to get it mailed to you when it comes out in the future.

Not true. If you have 3 movies out,for example, on the day the "new release" issues you will not be the "1st" to get it. It will ship to 1st customer that has movies coming their way next.

Return and time it perfect. I think it is all luck really. I actually am a big fan of blockbuster.com. They allow in-store exchanges of up to 5 a month so if you subscribe to 3 at a time, technically you can have 6 out at once (the 3 you still show as not being returned yet and the 3 new or older titles you just got from the store). Also, since Blockbuster did away with late fees you can keep a movie or game almost 6 weeks. Here's how it works, 5 days with paid rental, then 7 day grace period to return it. If after the 12th day you still have movie/game they then charge you for it, but you now have 30 days to return it and only pay a $1.50 service fee and then they refund the price charged. I am not a spokesman or employee of blockbuster! LOL I just think it is a great deal. Not as good as Redbox, but still pretty darn good!

I'm personally sick of all the 'unrated' releases- most of them just have stuff added back in that slows down the movie and was cut for good reason. Separate discs are completely unnecessary anyways, as one of the biggest hyped features of DVD when it first came out was to be able to have multiple versions of a movie on the SAME disc. Oddly only a few titles have done this, many others have had separate discs. (Don't even get me started on all the "Foolscreen Edition" discs out there- 16x9 discs can also be flagged so the player will crop the picture if set to "4x3 Pan & Scan" for the black-bar-haters but an extremely small number of discs can do this.)

If I'm forced to pick one or the other I always go for the theatrical version. I'm glad Redbox usually carries the correct version.

I do agree that alot of the times the stuff that is cut is done so to avoid slowing the movie down or simply because it just wasn't good enough. However there are other times when material is cut because it makes the movie too long by Hollywood standards. Also, if the "gore" gets too intense it will trigger a rating that is above R and thus unmarketable in most cases. I would simply like the option to decide for myself. They they take the time and effort to make an unrated version as well as a rated version for dvd then there may be something there. Then again, there may not! LOL

Did anyone see "Bone Eater"? It definatly looks tacky and cheap, but is it watchable? Any horror fans got comments for me. Also, "Grizzly Park" info? "The Ruins" was very good. "Alive or Dead"? was iffy at best. Worth watching with free code and if there are no other options.

Its a bit more complicated than it seems. Yes, I could easily remove the expired codes, but they serve as a reference for many to see what the past codes have been.

Also, I have found it difficult to decide what an "expired" code actually is. Monday codes definitely fit the category, but other more "regular" codes sometimes start working again after awhile, so I don't want to list them as expired and prevent them from showing.

I am working on taking the expired codes off of the list, and then allowing you to click to another page to see a more comprehensive list that shows expired and other removed codes. This is probably a more ideal way to handle it than the current setup.

Stay tuned! (and, I am always open to your ideas and suggestions...)

It's sort of helpful to know which codes have expired so you don't bother trying to use them again. Unless people aren't being accurate with the listings though, it looks like some of them expire earlier in some places than others.

Used to be a blockbuster.com advocate, but their cost is twice as much when you have the unlimited in store returns, which is basically a wash if you compare per movie cost. But, the worst thing about Blockbuster compared to Netflix is that with Blockbuster you're lucky if you get sent something near the top of your queue. Netflix does a much better job of identifying availabiltiy and working to get your preferred items to you, and the turn around of about a day each way is also quicker than Blockbuster. For the 3 @ a time, $18 or so a month, Netflix is the better provider.

Blockbuster is collecting new or used dvds for the troops! There is a drop box in the store and they will ship them to The tropps over-seas. I am donating a lot of my dvds that I know I will never watch again and suggest anyone who can please do the same. Just imagine at night in the barracks after being on patrol or being shot at our soldiers watching a movie that YOU sent them! How cool is that!

HOWEVER, THERE WAS A WALMART EMPLOYEE IN FROMT OF ME AND HE RENTED A COPY OF EVERY NEW RELEASE FOR MAX OF 6 PER CARD AND HE USED THE MONDAY CODE. YES, AFTER MIDNIGHT. the cards you ordered might work, assuming your name is printed on the card and your address is registered with them.

I know for a fact that the walmart prepaid visa MONEYCARD that gets your name on it will work but the walmart prepaid visa GIFTCARD will not even when registered.

So it varies, I say if you already ordered them give it a shot and see.

Hey Andy i tied that and 90% of the time the day of the release it say short wait. Question why is tuesday the designated release day of release date for all movies who oversees this date? I personally know blockbuster employees that get movies approx. oneweek prior to release date.

It was hard to find codes last summer!!! There were codes that were posted for Tx, but alot of them wouldn't work in Houston. I think codes dry up in the summer b/c school is out and people rent more. At least there still a free code for Mon.

In Houston, DVD play has basically the same selection as Redbox. There number of copies of movies is usually only one per movie, so if you don't get there really early the movie maybe gone.

its dumb because you have to use a different card even if you use a different code. I used a code yesterday, they didn't charge me, I used a different code today, and they charged me. thats such a hassle getting a different card every time u wanna rent $1 movie in my opinion.

no, I have only one card and I have used at least 70 different codes over the last 8 months on that one card. inorder for a code to work it must still be valid and you must not have already used it on that card, and if you enter a code you still get a $1 "hold" placed on your account and assuming you return it on time that hold is removed in 1-2 weeks. It is standard procedure for a business like this to place the $1 hold to verify the card is active and has sufficient funds for the first days rental. It is also stated in the terms of service which can be found on the REDBOX liosk touchscreen interface or there website.

well this question has been answered several times on this sit but here again, Some work and some don't for example if its a prepaid from your bank that has your name and address registered to the card it will, also the Walmart prepaid VISA MONEYCARD that is registered to you and your name appears on the card works but the walmart VISA GIFTCARD will not work even when registered, it appears the defining characteristic is that your name has to be on the card so that if you go over your balance they not only have your address but also the name of the person that rented the movie.

The gift2go cards at Walgreens worked fine for me. If you can register the card online and tie it to your zip code, most likely it will work, but not all do.

my question is why some codes are reported not working when the code actually looks like a "WILD CODE" good at all redbox's?

for instance "THX0708" seems to be working everywhere accross the country -- but "SUMMER1" seems to location specific?

now i have entered codes before and the kiosk says something like " can not authorize code at this time, please try later" -- then i try it again in about 1-2mins and it works

it just seems that "THX0708" seems to be a "GLOBAL" code.?

it should not have any "not working" @ wal-mart

I see that sometimes the RedBox machines have an empty case available for $1.00. I presume it is to allow one to return a DVD if you have lost the case. It ends up costing $1.00 additional but at least it stops the rental charges since a DVD can't be returned without a case (as far as I know). I'm wondering, could I use a free (Monday) code to get a case for free and keep it or would I be charged $1.00 per day?

actually the older cases do have a small barcode in the middle of the back side of the case, not sure about the new case, As for the original question why would you want to waste a promo code on a case you may never need? It is there for people that NEED them as a last resort because they were dumb enough to misplace the case, I mean come on, open case insert dvd into player set case ontop of dvd player watch movie, return to case and return to kiosk. how could you misplace a case unless your like here you go kids (tosses case to young children) have fun, and if you do that then you should pay the dollar for a replacement case.

I called Redbox and was told I could keep the case. The $1.00 charge buys the case. I got a case yesterday with a FREE Monday ONLY Code. The case has a barcode on a piece of paper inside. That is how it finds the case inside machine. It is treated like a DVD based upon the bar code. Directions say to remove the paper "code" and put the CD inside. I have several credit cards. I can use the Monday ONLY code on each card. I can not possibly watch more than two movies a day because I work full time. The empty case can be used at home to store CD/DVD. The cases is very durable

now redbox is rereleasing movies as new releases that we have rented off of them 3-6 months ago. another trick they like to do is to change the pictures in the machines to get us to goof and rent a movie for a second time. anybody else notice? the new release 21 is one of them.

I tried both, P2GLBKX came up as an already used code, BR66S11 was shown as an invalid code, have not tried the FUJI26 yet, I talked to Redbox and they told me that SUMMER1 was a valid working code, but would not tell me where.

Some select customers get a code with there new releases instead of the normal dvdonme at the bottom, I use to get them, but now mine all have dvdonme at the bottom too, not sure who qualifies for the extra code,

Did you read the bottom, this website isn't affiliated with redbox, i wish people would read that before posting stuff. Whats up with redbox website, none of the new movies showed up on there today and after midnight only a couple of movies were to get and the rest just vanished. I met a redbox stocker and he told me there cracking down on the codes because of losing money so looks like its back to paying 1.00 which isn't bad.

If you buy 3 reg candy bars for $2.00 you get a free rental code for red box.

I am sure it is a one time only code but hey you get 3 candy bars and a movie for 2 bucks!

I too have noticed that there seem to not be any movies in my box worth seeing lately AND that the machines are not taking codes. We use two wal-mart machines 20 miles apart. I noticed the banner for Nim's island like 2 weeks ago as coming attractions. However, now that it is out, its not in the machine, nor is it on their website! And my old standby backup to rent if I cant find anything else I want to rent, the Brave One, has not been in my machine in a month. Still shows up on list, but isnt there when I chose it. I have had several times that I went to get a movie and my top 10 picks even werent in the machine! And I have tried almost every code out there, with both old and new credit cards, and cannot get codes to work with our 2 machines. Even DVDONME did not work, with a brand new credit card I just got. It said code already used. The monday and other codes either say used already or code cannot be processed at this time.

Wondering, do you know if each attendant has a way to turn off the codes for machines. Or maybe a regional thing. Because none of the codes work for us around here any more. My guess would be the attendant for these 2 machines is the same.

Granted $1 is not a lot for a movie rental. But as many as we rent in a week, and as we cant always return them in 24 hours, it does add up quickly.

I've been renting movies on Saturdays whenever I go by a machine, since I work Sunday nights now and can return them on time. FUJI26 worked on Saturday but it had expired on Sunday. I think that one lasted longer than a week too, usually the codes last one week and the last day they work is on a Monday.

For some reason it seems redbox is having some problems, i went on vacation and tried many redboxes and codes worked and some didn't. I believe it has alot to do with them being online, but a guy who stocked the redboxes in northern maryland told me they can block codes and such. He said its all up to the retailer and the guy stocking them. Sad that they have to cheat us out of free rentals and such. But everyone needs to make money somehow.

I've used the same code more than once (fuji26, breakroom, and dvdonme), however, you have to use a different credit card to swipe with each time, and bypass the email address. The system will zero it out, but if you use the same card it then says unable to process. Did it over with a different c.card & skipped email, worked like a charm. Just used them again last night at Giant Eagle in Ohio.

so last night i went and did my usual monday night into tuesday test and found the monday only code works well into tuesday morning however some locations don't let the new movies go to well into the next morning, after stopping at 7 red boxes and checking things out the 6th one at 1:30am wouldn't let the new movies go but all the others let them go around midnight or a lil later from my weekly checks. and everytime i call redbox they tell me a new promo code too, i even applied as a part time stocker to get the more inside scoop on the whole process. what an amazing machine they have. Anyone find any new codes for this week because none seem to be working right accept the usual ones.

It appears from the usage of the code LOU808, that it may work only at the Louisville Kentucky area McDonalds, but the code MCSUMR808 seems to work at all McDonalds so far. One out of two is not bad.

FYI if anyone is using Jewel/Osco in 60526 area, the Wednesday code is not working. i walked there and back (no car) and don't feel like walking over 2 miles again, so no movies for me. \

i got the words "unable to process at this time. try again later. sorry for the inconvenience."

so when i got home, i called 1-866-733-2693, and they said they had not received the Wednesday code yet and so the kiosk isnt programmed with it and they'll take care of it.

but i don't feel like walking another couple miles. they gave me a one time code good for 45 days, but it's only good on one of my credit cards. oh, well, better than nothing.

I really enjoyed the Cleaner, it has a great story line with lots of twists and unexpected turns. It was one of those movies that keeps you on the edge of your seat. And of course Samuel L. Jackson as the lead character couldn't of been a better choice.

just wondering if anyone would know. i have a debit card from my bank, but it doesnt work if i slide it in a redbox kiosk. i've never used it before, but i do have a password# for it. there is no place in the kiosk to put a #, so i'm guessing thats why it won't work. don't all debit cards have passwords, yet directions say you can use a credit or debit card.

Very disturbing.Child abuse is never a good basis for a movie and the fact that it is all taken from actual court transcripts makes this true story even sadder. Not for the faint of heart. When you're at the redbox machine, down in the left had corner there is a button that says "promo code" or something of that sort. Click it. Type in the promo code. If the code works it will load to the screen where the dvd selection is. Pick a movie. It will says the cost is 0.00 dollars. Click checkout and use your credit card and you're set.

Blockbuster rates are much better then you describe actually. All rentals are 5 days not 2. After the 5 days is up you get 5 more days as a grace period to return the dvd/game. If after having the dvd/game for 11 days and have still not returned it they then charge you the price of the dvd/game. This price is even ststed on your receipt. Now, after you kept the game for 11 days and were charged for it you then have 10 days to bring it back and get your charge refunded for only a $1.25 restocking fee. So you literally can rent a game or movie from Blockbuster for 20 days for the price of 1 rental plus $1.25 or for 10 days for the price of 1 rental. Hope this helps.

Too bad. You are missing out on a lot of great movies that Blockbuster has exclusive rights too and others that Redbox simply does not stock because alot of room is given to no-name horror films that must be cheap to buy. I like a mix of the 2 differant formats.

Blockbuster does have good movies but the Better for the price they charge. They are expensive and of course it seems that you get a better deal because you have 5 days and then the grace period but who really needs 5 days to watch a movie! Honestly, Redbox is the best for overnight rentals, anything under 5 days. I feel that they give better discount codes and promos.
Blockbuster is sold by the name not the quality. And btw, those are some good so called "no-name horror films". They all have to start somewhere.

how long does it take you to watch a movie? most movies are 1 1/2 to 2 hours. i can watch a movie in about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. its real easy for me to follow along with.

Does anyone know if the codes DVDONME or BREAKROOM ect... will work multiple times? Just want to know cuz they let you type the code in before you slide your card and if it finds it already used it probably just charges you. Also will these work multiple days? I had movies out on both for 2 days bout a week or so ago and havn't been charged yet.

Those 2 along with REDBOX (1st time with card only) work all the time. But you can only use each with 1 card apiece. If you want to use them more than once, just use a different card each time; if you have already used one of the codes for that card, it will tell you and can choose another code, pay or start over.

Just wanted to pass along the good word that mondays code is here and works great its X4N19P and has anyone else tried using these codes past midnight?? I've been doing it for the last 4 weeks and around 12:15am I go and get the new releases and it works great.

All valid points. Actually it takes me about 19 minutes to finish a movie but that is another story. The advantage to the 5+5+10 day rental period for Blockbuster is that I do not have to return the movie the next day. Usually I go to Blockbuster every tuesday to get the newest releases that redbox does not carry. Therefore I am saving my time and gas. Imagine being able to return a redbox new release the following tuesday when you pick up the next new release. I think the advantages of the extra days is clearer now. P.S. I'm not knocking redbox ( I Love It) I'm just not going to knock Blockbuster either.

I watch almost all of the "No-Name" horror movies redbox offers, but for 9 outta 10 there is a very valid reason they did not go to the theaters. :-)

I usually rent My movies around 6 when i'm on lunch and take them back at the end of the night when I get off work, but for the hell of it I have tested what you are talking about and either last week or the week before it was like 12:28 and it still took it. If I get up there that late I may wait for the midnight switch tonight.

you might be charged if it's past the midnight hour!!, even though it didn't show up as the next day. you might be billed. would love to hear from you when you get your credit card bill............

How about the time on here? It says Frank posted at 8:45am below. I was in the parking lot at Giant until 10:15 refreshing the phone over and over and nothing new. So what zone is this site on? Or are we waiting until someone approves the posts now?

Hey I was at my local giant in harrisburg PA at 12:17am and success, it worked like a charm, redbox took the code and allowed me to get my free rentals. Not sure how i am able to do this if they expire at midnight but it worked great for me!!

i've been doing this for a couple of weeks now and i have online billing and checked and no charge, the redbox takes the code as if it was monday even though its tuesday

I agree Angel that Redbox is the best solution 'cause Blockbuster can't match up to Redbox's price and my area store doesn't include Red Box new releases in Blue 5 night rental fee. No matter how you look at it..Saving big now thanks to Redbox. Saw on internet they too may venture into kiosks 'cause Redbox is raking it in...If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. huh? So we'll see if Blockbuster has a broader movie selection if and when??Also, about Monday's code, it took me 3 times to activate it. so use start over feature if at first you don't score. About DVDplay website and customer service, as of today no freebie available, just a 49cent rental for newbies. FYI - 10 rentals gets you 1 free rental, movies are $1.49 1st day. $1 eachsubseqent late days.

I just signed up at redbox for the text messaging, but unfortunately i haven't received Wednesdays codes. Does anyone know why that is?

also when I signed up it said I would be getting Monday codes, not Monday and wednesday.

The reason it only said monday codes was because the wednesday codes where this month only, and you did not recieve todays code because it takes up to a week before you start recieving the text messages and on top of that if you signed up today you probaly did it after the codes had been sent out for the day,they are sent out between 10 and 11 am eastern time if you signed up after that you would not have recieved it.
